Leave a CommentRecd a hand written note on 5x7 piece of paper asked if I still sold life insurance, I've been trying to reach you, please call me. signed Jeff with the toll free number under his name 8--662-3011. Mailed from Salt Lake City Utah, but no return address on out side of envelope. It was address to me at my home address and hand written on the envelope. Very strange!!
I called and they answered Jeff Berg's office and I asked what they do and she said they are a federal financial group wanting to see if agent's want to take on additional clients..
same thing. postmarked 12 MAR 2009, Salt Lake City. Zip code was close but wrong. I hold an insurance license. Carlsbad, CAliforniaWeird. Thanks for those of you that posted here and described your experience of calling the number. Saves me from wondering what the ^&*( is this!Take care one and all
I received the same note, I'm kind of curious how it is legal for them to show no return address (since that is so****ing attorneys would do to serve a letter or request an appearance in court) I WISH I HAD THAT ADDRESS SINCE I HAVE GOTTEN 2 OF THESE LETTERS NOW!
Received 2 handwritten notes from "Jeff" asking if I still sold life insurance to call 8006623011. The letters were from Salt Lake City Utah! very shady!!!
Same garbage still going out. Got one this week. Blocked my number & called for entertainment purposes. They want agents to sell on leads for equity indexed products.
Recieved same letter, Jeff, from Salt Lake. I am an insurance agent. My best bet is that they are looking to sell leads to agents.
I'm in Orange County, CA just got the same note. Nothing illegal about a gim****y advert. Any seasoned rep like me will just will ignore it. I checked it out on Google out of curiosity and won't call them.
I got the letter, post marked 8/27 in SLC, UT, I am licensed to sell life insurance and used to live in Utah but now live in Oceanside, CA so I couldn't tell if it was an old prospect or "wierd" marketing from a recruiter. No return address. Upon further review I did notice that the zip code is all wrong. Text of lettter: Scott, I have been trying to reach you. If you still sell life insurance call me. Phil 1-800-662-3011. Obviously, I didn't call once I googled it and found this website. Probably make a call to the Utah Dept. of Insurance and give them a heads up.
fishing for prospects.......we all know it is a numbers business to a certain degree.
I got it too in Tampa, FL.
Same note - mailed from Salt Lake City to the person doing my job before me(I've been here 2+ years) -- San Jose, CA.
I'm in Jacksonville, FL and got the same note. I do sell life insurance so they must be getting a list of licensed agents from somewhere. I don't see why sending a handwritten note would any more illegal than typing a letter. I cant imagine anyone doing business with someone like this.
Got the same note, how funny!
I got TWO letters - hand addressed, postage metered in Salt Lake City, UT. Same note inside, hand written. Funny thing, the letters are addressed to two people who I know of who sell life insurance but neither one of them lives at my house! So there is a mix up in the database somewhere...
I received the same letter. It was crudely printed and was not correctly punctuated. I have NEVER sold life insurance so I wonder where they got my name. I live in Tacoma, WA. Where else did this strange letter end up and just exactly WHAT is he us to???
I received the same thing today. One for the agent here and another for someone who has never been at this address.
I received the same thing! Jeff is out of town till next Tuesday... or so the woman said.
I called the number (800)662-3011 a lady picks up 10:30 at night saying "Jeff Birds office". I asked her what this was regards too, she said they buy names of people who is or was licensed at one point to see if they wanted to sell insurance.I think they are paying kids to write these letters. I'm going to see if this type of solicitation is illegal in someway. I saw some person get arrested and punished by jail time due to email spam. I would think this falls in that sort of catagory.-Eric
I just received that same exact letter today. The note looked like a kid wrote it. The envelope looks like a ladys hand writing..
I received the EXACT same note in the mail!
I did not receive a call but I got a small handwritten note requesting me to call this # if I still sell Life Insurance. It asked me to contact "Jeff". He wrote that he had been trying to reach me.No last name, no return address.
