Leave a CommentJust received a card from: Awards Center PO Box 745069 Arvada, CO 80006THAT SAYS:Dear Lindsey, Good News, we have $150 in complimentary GAS reserved in your name! To redeem your gift now...Call Toll FREE 1 (866) 585-5928 with your redemption number at the bottom of this card. Thanks, Call 9 AM-9 PM ESTLee Jackson Monday-Friday Redemption #GC*******Just out of curiousity, I called the number and they tried to fee me for everything in the book. They require a credit card number and a "one time fee." This is obviously a scam!!!
READ THIS ENTIRE POST! THIS IS INSIDER INFORMATION!!! (It is long BUT it covers everything you need to know about these scams)Ok, here is the deal! Awards Center is a Scam. After they get you to bite, they get a fee from you. A week or so later you cancel whatever they sold you (Magazines, etc.) in order to get whatever reward it is they promised you (Gas cards, etc). They use a company called Tidewater to give you the "Free Gas". The problem is that you have to send $100 worth of gas receipts in to "Tidewater Global Consulants" aka "Freebie gas" aka "Freebee gas" aka GasolineRedemption.com, etc. per month and if you’re lucky they will send you a $25 gas card for that month until you reach your $50 or $150 or $500 promise. In this case a separate company (“Awards Center”) requires a fee, gets your money and then buys a gas certificate from Tidewater for less than you paid them and sends that gas voucher to you. So you get mad that you cannot get your full amount and call Tidewater complaining that they have *****ed you over. But in fact, it was really two different companies pulling this scam on you.Say I tell you I will give you a stake dinner in one week if you buy my cheeseburger today. You agree. I eat my cheeseburger and send you a coupon for a stake dinner at Shoney’s but you can only have one bite of stake per month after sending in $100 worth of coupons from Shoney’s from that month. I hope that you get mad at Shoney’s and I never hear from you a***n. That is how these scams work.Because of this, Tidewater is in trouble with the Attorney General in Washington, Florida and Oregon (and soon NY state). Here is what you need to do! Call “Tidewater” at 1-800-514-0366 don't stop until they let you talk to a manager named Steve (Employee # 0007). He can help you but probably will not. Tell Steve that "Robin Hood" referred you to him, this will help. He will tell you it's not his fault and that the original company scammed you. In this case the "original company" is “Awards Center” but many companies do the same thing and write it off on Tidewater. Then Call “Awards Center” at 1-866-585-5928 and don’t stop until they let you talk a supervisor named, Lori. When I did this, I threatened to report them just like I reported Tidewater and told her that I want a full refund. She offered to refund the $9.95 fee and told me that I agreed to the other fee in a recording. I told her to listen to my specific recording and she would see that I said, “I hereby only agree to pay the $? Fee if it results in me getting $150 in free gas cards and that I will only be charged this amount and only one time, etc”. I told her I would fight her in a court of law and that she would lose. She immediately offered to give me a full refund. I told her if I did not receive it within 14 days she would be hearing back from me. Please be nice to her though. She is kind, she just works for a bunch of vultures. Make sure to report both companies to the Pinellas County Department of Justice, Consumer Services at 727-464-6200 and to the Florida Attorney General at 1-866-966- 7226 as well as your Local Attorney General. Tell them on the phone that you will do this and that you know that Tidewater’s President Crystal Clark is under investigation by the Attorney General.Don’t fall for these scams in the future. I went through this before and was persistent enough to finally get $50 in gas cards but that was from a different company and it still wasn’t worth the trouble. These companies (For instance Awards Center) want you to think Tidewater (aka Freebee Gas) is the same company so you will harass Tidewater and leave them alone. The benefit to calling Steve at Tidewater is that Tidewater will really give you free gas cards if you complain enough. The problem is that once you get the gas cards, they are only usually good for one specific gas station (and not the ones with the logos on the paper. That is a trick and they want you to****ume that) these gas stations are usually ***dreds of miles away from you and rarely work if you made the trip out there anyways. Plus if you send in receipts from different gas stations, even if they all equal over $100 they will not count. The Good News is that they ARE two different companies which means two different contracts and since you have the $150 (or more) Gas Voucher, you are still en***led to it even though you are receiving a refund from the original company (Awards Center). This way Awards Center will actually lose money on you because they already paid Tidewater to send you the voucher. Let’s turn this scam around on THEM and see how they like it!I encourage you to call both of these companies and complain and complain and complain. They have to pay people to answer your calls. If you let them know you know this fact and waste enough of their time you will get your gas cards. Call and talk to both of them and let them both know you will pursue legal actions a***nst them and eventually they might get the message.Respectfully,Michael C.

Wow, don't ya love being able to look things up before falling for ****** scams?!! I just got mine today. Guy said, because your credit cards are in good standing, you've been selected -- bla bla bla. Well, my cards aren't in good standing, their all late. I'm laid off. So that right there told me so****ing was fishy. I just said, ya know what, give my prize to some other deserving person. Good bye.
Must be someone from Awards Credit who just said they got their gas card. I just called and was straight up with them and I said all I wanted was the gas card and he said ok but... He then went on to say that I will not get a $150 gas card unless I gave credit card numbers and sent them money. I insisted that he send me my gas card, he said no and ***g up. I wonder what the Post Office has to say about this scam, since Awards Center is using the post office for this scam.
if you just tell them that you don't want any type of packages... or anything but your gas card .. they will give it to you...at least that's what happened to mei was straight up with him and said all i want is the gas card and he said ok... and i got it in the mailgood stuff :)

Lucky Duck Claims Dept.P.O. Box 745069Arvada, CO 80006Received this card in the mail. Thanks to the first person who posted on this site I know not to call back. I called the # after 8:00 pm to see what it was all about and sure enought it was some cheesy sounding guy that told me to leave my name, number and claim number and they would call me back. Just another scam artist trying to get ahead by ripping off other people. I wish they would pass a law sentencing these *******s to life without parole if they got busted. I'm so tired of getting this **** in the mail, and I'm so tired of people trying to make a dishonest buck in this country.

I got a postcard telling me to call this number. It is for Lucky Duck Claims and to call a person named Lee Jackson. After reading the above comment, I am not going to bother calling. It seemed as if this was a scam where they try to take your money by offering you a "prize."
I called the number and a man told me that I won a watch and 2 60 month subscriptions...he asked if I would be willing to pay the $3.** per week for OK or US News mag, but I said no. He said that they were still going to send me my watch and the 2 magazine subscriptions for free, plus I would still be entered into a drawing for $100,000 or other large prizes, like a new car, etc. I don't think he tried to sell me anything. I think he said that he was from Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes....and I won in a drawing, but he said they like to try to get the winners to also buy a weekly subscription to US News or Ok mag. I told him no, that I didn't want those and that if I had to pay to get my prizes, then nevermind, but he said, it was okay and that I still was going to get the watch and magazines, plus be entered into the drawing for the money. He said that they would call the grand prize and other winnners in December...I think the 12th.
