Received a 1099 from GMAC Mortgage but I have never worked for them. I called the number 800-766-4622 and they asked for my account number in which I don't and never had, and so they asked me for my SS#. Even though the number appears to be legit, (re-searched their website), I find this strange and could be a scam
Received a letter with this number on it claimimg to be from GMAC Mortgage. They need my SSN in writing so they can reort correctly to the IRS.Havn't had a mortgage with them for over a year!Seems like a scam to me!
