Text message indicating to call 800-781-4810 (Bank of America Alert)because of irregular card activity> Sure ... I have no BoA relationship
We had the same problem at 800notes.com ... So I'll post what I know here.-----Sender: 3607Caller: Bank of America FRAUD / SCAM"[email protected] / Bank of America Alert: Irregular Credit Card Activity. Call 1-800-781-4810 for more information. Thank you. /"SENT: 2:39:35pm09/04/2009-----I'm so sick and tired of iden***y theft and fraud!T-Mobile customer here too. Just got this text message about an hour ago... Everyone T-Mobile and Bank of America (if you have an account) and demand an investigation. give them the info and the number the bad guys said to call. Let's shut down these *******s trying to mug us in broad dayligh***-Mobile Customer Service:1-800-T-MOBILE1-888-537-4242 . . . But don't call the "1-877-453-1304" number, it'll send you to some place in India or Malaysia. They said they couldn't tell me where the call center was. It took me 20 minutes to reach an American rep.Bank of America Customer Service:California: 1.800.622.8731Idaho & Washington: 1.800.442.6680Seattle: 1.206.461.0800All Other States: 1.800.432.1000I've contacted both parties, and they both suggested it was the others fault. But the BoA rep admitted that she just got 3 calls similar to mine about the scam text messages. She also said that BoA doesn't use text messages to notify people about irregular activity in their banking system. Now the T-Mobile rep said BoA uses mass text messages all the time, and I informed her that that is not what the BoA rep told me. Anyway. I asked both reps to see how far up they can get this, including the 1-800-781-4810 number. If this is indeed a scam and not some computer/BoA ***** up, we need to do all that we can to make sure no one gets hurt.Report as much info as you can. Thank You.
