Leave a Comment1-800-809-6310 has now been turned over to the FBI. They will investigate this Blue Springs, MO. scam and "Cory" who answered the phone. This company will be closed in the next seven days and phone operators working for 1-800-809-6310 will be detained and investigated. Don't mess with the American consumer!
We didn't get a call from this number. My husband recieved one of these mailers that states on the inside cover "Featuring Major American airlines, Fly the US Skies" but does not contain the official AA logo, and doesn't actually say AA, just insinuates it. At a quick glance one might think it came from the airline, closer scrutiny shows it doesn't. The outside of the envelope instructs the postmaster to please deliver between 2008-2009.Some other things that made us su****ious (besides that he doesn't fly AA) is that it gives a gate number on the detachable boarding pass. Anyone who flies knows that even if you check in online and print your boarding pass before going to the airport you don't get a gate****ignment until you actually get to the airport. There is no way they would have had a gate****ignment to place on this boarding pass, especially since there isn't a destination or flight number on it. Also noted it does not say he will get "free" tickets, it says he should call to recieve his "special gift" I googled the call back number 800-809-6310 just to verify that it was a scam and found this page. Just as we thought it is a scam. - Lets keep warning people about this.
This company, World Wide Travel, discriminates a***nst unmarried people. They waste your time with the free offer, but when they find out that you have no spouse, they tell you you have to be married to parti****te in the offer.
If you call a toll free number from a pay phone it cost them about $0.30 for each call. If everybody would call the toll free number from a pay phone several times a day their cost of business would increase - perhaps enough that they would go out of business When calling the toll free number you just have to make sure the call connects. You don't have to have a conversation. Once the call connects, even if it’s just for a second, they get charged the $0.30
I've just recieved in mail a number to call for 2 free tickets. I did not call.
You guys may have beat me to it this tim. The crooked company seems to have swiched numbers a***n.
Got a promotional item in the mail claiming to be from U.S. Airlines. My wife had supposedly won 2 round trip airfares to a major international airport! It asked to call (800)809-6310 and listed an offer #. When I tried calling the number, it was obvious that it was a telemarketer trying to sell so****ing other than what was listed on the offer. I believe it was a timeshare offer. Please avoid these scams and do yourself a favor, shread all junk mail offers that appear to be, to good to be true.
See the thread for 1-800-413-5613. Googled "World Wide Travel" and apparently this "promotion" has been going on for awhile under various business addresses and 800-numbers. I think that it's our credit card companies and banks that are selling our information to these scammers.
