Leave a CommentWe keep getting phone calls from that number.
yeah also about the labor department or so****ing
thats wierd it just happened to me so****ing about winning a card or so****ing it happened like a few days ago
My mother received a call just like the others from a man calling himself David Ross from the department of labor. Ross said that someone was trying to use my social to get unemployment in California... I live in Georgia. Long story short I called the department of labor and they said they had no such information. A few days later I got a call from an old employer saying that he got a call from Ross saying the same thing that was told to my mother. My wife suggested that I goggle the number, I was given this link; and now I am going to email blast my family and friends with this site and the information about this scam. Oh I am also going to contact the FBI!!!
I got a call from this number and was su****ious. I returned the call anywayand spoke to Jimmy Johnson. He was locating missing heirs of, PT Beauregard,my great uncle. I received a large cash settlement for my shareof the estate. Thanks Mr. Johnson.
Just received a similar call a few minutes ago. Looked it up and found this site. What a lifesaver! They originally called my sister-in-law, who passed the message on to me. The caller, "Bill Jenkins", said that someone from North Carolina was trying to get SSI benefits under my daughter's SS#. I first called and got a message "Press 1 for English" then "We are unable to take your call right now, please leave a number to call back...etc.". It struck me odd that there was no agency identification on the message. Anytime I ever called an unemployment agency, not only was there an agency identification but I had to go through a series of message to get to the party I wanted. That's what prompted me to look into it. The North Carolina labor Dept. does not have this number listed at any of their state offices. So I checked this site next. When I discovered this was a scam, I called "Mr. Jenkins" back and left another message to let him know that I found out about the scam, to never call anyone in my family a***n, and that I was reporting them to the authorities. I haven't heard back from them ,go figure.
Same story as all the others:A guy called my partner today stating that he is from the GA.Dept of Labor and someone is trying to collect unemployment benefit using my partner's SS# he said his name was some David Martin. Well, we called the number later and just as we suspected it was not the GA.Dept of labor. No greetings at all. Thank goodness for GOOGLE.COM i found this forum.
A man has been calling random members in my family, falsifying his iden***y, claiming that he was with the state unemployment office. When he calls, he asks me. He claims that someone was trying to use my social security number to collect unemployment. He then asks for personal info about me. (The number was 1-800-811-1767 and his ext) the guys name was David Ross.) I called the number the man had left back (blocking my number) and it was some answering service just saying, " Thank you for calling your call is important to us. If you know your parties ext dial it now." So I dialed the ext. and got another voice mail saying" Were either on the other line or away from our desk. Please leave your name, number and the best time to call. Well call you as soon as we can." There was no say what so ever of the company name. Minutes after I ***g up the phone, I received a call from an incoming call with an unavailable number, and I answered. A man, who I believe to be the same guy (sounded the same as the “David Ross” voice) said his name was Rusty, and He was with my cell phone company and that they were having problems with the local cell towers, and asked me if my service was ok now, then he asked me for my zip code… and then asked If I was me… I thought it was fishy so I ***g up the phone. Seconds later he called back but this time my cell# showed up as the incoming call… It freaked me out so I immediately went to my local cell company. They investigated and determined that this is a scam, and that this guy had falsely represented the cell company. They instructed me not to give him any info. They have turned it in to the FBI. My suggestion to you is if any one of your family members receives one of these odd calls, you should then alert all of you family to be on the look out and NOT to give out any information. Immediately contact your local FBI office, as this guy and his colleagues are conducting an illegal operation. Lets hope we can catch this lying scam artist before he is successful in destroying more people’s lives… I noticed that previous blog indicated that this caller is suspected to be some type of collection agency… Even if there is a chance that he is some type of collection office, his unscrupulous misrepresentations are a***nst the law. Call the FBI if you get one of these calls.
This guy is still at it. Same situation: this time he was from the South Carolina Employment Security Commission. S****ed to give another number, then offered the direct line with his extension 1247. I called the number and got the same answering service.
This just happened to u****actly the same thing. We think it is a collection agency, but who knows.I wrote the Texas Work Force commission and reported this. They said it is not them and NOT to give them any imformation !
The same thing happend to me just yes****ay! A man called my mothers home asking for me and saying someone in Birmingham, AL. was trying to use my social security number.(The number was 1-800-811-1767 ext 1414 the guys name was David Ross.) I called the number the man had left back (blocking my number) and it was some answering service just saying, " Thank you for calling your call is important to us. If you know your parties ext. dail it now." So I dialed the ext. and got another voice mail saying"Were either on the other line or away from our desk. Please leave your name, number and the best time to call. Well call you as soon as we can." There was no say what so ever of the company name . I thought that was odd. SO I googled the number and found this site then I called the local sheriffs dept., they told me to call a credit reporting agency like transunion and see if it has been used and if it had to call the sheriffs dept back and they would file a report!
Rec'd a call today from someone asking for my wife. I explained that she is away, and the caller told me that someone else is using her SSN to draw unemployment in Baltimore, MD. I took his name and number and told him I would get her to call him back. He wanted to know our physical address so that he could "send a telegram," but I didn't give it. Instead, I told him I had another call and disconnected. When I did a search for the number, this site came up. When I called it, I got an answering system that simply says "Thank you for calling" - and when I searched for the Baltimore Dept of Labor, I discovered it was NOT their number at all.
