Leave a CommentThese guys are legit. They just called, told me who I was and wanted to check that I bought some stuff. They were afraid my card had been grabbed by someone else. But it was all good. They didn't ask for any numbers or address. It's all good from these people.
Legit number. Should not ignore.
okay, I got one of those calls this morning - it is indeed a legit number - Fraud Monitoring Services for the customer support provider for many financial houses. There was a $.92 charge on my debit card that triggered the fraud alert and put a hold on my account. Before calling the 800-830-1925 number I checked my account, saw an odd transaction pending for the 92 cents, called my bank and learned that the fraud monitoring service had indeed kicked in, that my debit card was blocked **expletive(s) deleted**. They also confirmed that the 800 number is in fact legit. I called it myself and yes, it is legit, and yes, it did, thank goodness, trigger on that fraudulent charge and block my account. Now I have to deal with the cleanup of c****ing debit cards and taking care of all the downstream hassles of other charges I have floating around being denied due to the blocked account. HOWEVER - the up**** is, do not, do not, do not ignore a telephone call from 800-830-1925. If you get one, Charlie, you've got a problem.
I too got a call from this number @ 6:30 in the morning, checked my voicemail and immediately decided to google the number since they didn't give a company name or bank name for whom they were calling. I just called my bank (Harris) directly and I'm soooooo glad I did!!! Someone in Madrid Spain had tried to use my card not once, but TWICE - to the tune of over $500 ... luckily the charges were rejected by my bank. This is totally legit people, make sure if you hear from this number you at least call your bank immediately to speak with them directly.
The company this number belongs to is completely legit. Their company monitors card transactions and screens for stuff that is****entially fraudulent. Don't ignore the call. If you don't feel comfortable just call your bank first. That's what I did today and found out someone was scamming my account for 1200 dollars!!! You don't necessarily have to call them back, but if you get a message from them, there is probably a good reason!
This is NOT a scam number. I opened up my bank account (ING) online to pay bills, and there was a pending $1.00 charge for Bed Bath and Beyond. Not two minutes later I get a recorded call from this phone number (800-830-1925) on my cell. I looked it up on line and saw all these posts and others on different sites. I called the number back from my work phone, types in my cell number and they said there was fraudulent use of my card at Bed Bath and Beyond. I asked the name of the company and they said it's FIS. They said they were shutting down my card and to contact ING. So, I ***g up with them, called ING and they confirmed the company is legit, the card was in fact shut down by them, and ING is sending me a ***nd new card with a new number. Freaky, but a good thing!!!!
This is real. Call them back. I got a call this morning before 9 AM. I bank with ING but if you don't, maybe your bank is using Metavante. The agents at the number are with Metavante and are contracted by your bank to deal SOLELY in possible fraud charges on your credit/debit cards (after hours?).... so a rep at your own bank may not be "on it" yet. Just call them back, give them your phone number (which they already have) and see what they want. They will ask you if you made a charge and you can confirm or deny it. I recommend you get online with your bank accounts while you are on the phone with them to see what has been posted/pending.
This is real.I tried to use the wrong card in an ATM and, since I got the PIN wrong, it was flagged as a fraud attempt. I didn't return the call until they'd left three messages, then I looked the number up here, realized that my card had been denied the last time I tried to use it (I had thought it was just a glitch), and so I figured I should give them a call. They only asked me for my phone number (which they already had) then they told me my name and the name of my bank, and said that a failed attempt had been made to use card. I said, yes, that was me, and all is well.If you don't feel comfortable calling this number, as it does sound a lot like a phishing scam, you should at least call your bank if you get this message. Unfortunately, the message says it's from "your financial ins***ution," so if you have more than one bank you might be in for a lot of hold music.
Important - this number is legit. Please don't ignore it if you get a call from them.I got a voice mail this morning from 800-830-1925. It stated they were calling on behalf of my financial ins***ution, and it was about my debit card. I didn't return the call, but I checked my bank balance. It was negative $2,100! Apparently, someone had gotten hold of my debit card number and made three fraudulent charges to my checking account. The first was a "test" for $1.00, the other two were for over $2,300 combined.I was able to resolve the matter with my bank, and I should be fine going forward. But the point is, don't just ignore a call from this number. At the very least, double check your bank balance and any recent transactions.Hope this helps.
A call from this number informed me of attempts to use my card in the Phillipines. The charges had been declined, so no hard had been done yet. She said she would shut down my card immediately. She called my home phone, knew my name, my bank name and the last 4 digits of my account number. I have checked, and no unusual transactions were found to my account. I have a very low withdrawal limit to prevent problems, and it probably saved me today.
These idiots called my cell phone twice at work. Now my bank card doesn't work.
These idiots called my cell phone twice at work in the same day. I didn't recognize the number and ignored both calls. You would think that, after the first unanswered call, they would leave me alone. Now my bank card isn't working.
Wow, a ton of people said it is legit and confirmed it with their banks, and only a few say it's a scam. I guess it wouldn't hurt to call your bank just to be on the safe side. We are a business and received this message over the weekend. Just a month ago we had cards from a few employees with purchases that they didn't make. So I would say call your bank to be sure.
This number is a SCAM! I called my bank and they had no clue who these people where and had no record of any transaction that had taken place. They told me it was a scam and to never call anyone back concerning my bank account unless it is for a fact my bank. I did how ever check my online statement which had a pending charge of $1.01 the previous day. I had how ever taken a screen **** of the transaction! I showed my bank and they are now investigating.
