Keeps calling and making ***ual inuindos on voice mail, when answering phone they ask for personal information then **** up. When doing a reverse search it comes up as Chase Banking. When we called Chase they said that they have no number like that. Going on a reverse search there are several people complaining about this number. What should we do?

continually get calls from this number to my cell phone. Can not return call to find out source and reason for call. Probably telemarketer, wish they would take me off their call list!!!

Call requesting that I hold the line for an important message. After several minutes receive message that all agents are busy. I no longer answer this number.

My payment has been 29 days late each month for the last year,(just can't get caught up), so the calls s**** after the 16th of each month until I pay on the 30th, then they stop until the 16th of the next month. Said they were from Chase, said I had money sitting in a suspend account---that I wasn't really behind and that Oct wasn't due yet, but in order for me to get out of collections I needed to pay an additional 400.00 to bring the balance current. HUH?? What? I am not behind, have money in a suspend account and they need more to bring the suspend account current on an account that is not behind? SCAM. She transferred me to " her customer service dept" that disconnected me upon transfer....

Who ever this is keeps calling my cell phone and my son's cell phone. There should be some way that this can be stopped.

I get calls 5-6 times a day at work. When I answer the phone, the line is dead.

These people keep calling my cell phone all day long.  I too get a busy signal when I try to call back.  Who are they and what do they want?  Who can I complain to about this?  My cell phone is serviced by AT&T.  Can they do anything about this?

i think this is chase, but why when you try to call back , it says its disonnected.? if they really wanted to talk to someone, i would think the call would go both ways?? they never leave a message so i removed my name and went with standard cell greeting. that hasnt stopped them. how the heck they get cell number??

I get calls from 800-849-9380 late at night not to mention all weekend long. They will call me several times a day and when i tried to call the number back i get a busy signal

I have gotten 8 calls from this number in the last 4 days! I am listed on the do not call list. I don't know who they are and all I get is an automated voice telling me to wait to be connected and then told that they can not connect me at this time but they will try a***n later. I do NOT want them to try a***n later!

Continuous calls from this #. I don't answer any more - su****ious caller. Put him in my cell phone address book as "Junk Call" so I don't pick up a***n. Like previous complainers we have done business with Chase also - I wonder if someone has access to Chase account either by hacking or through an employee! Chase should look into this!!!

update to my previous posting. After I angrily forced the caller to say his name, the call from this number stopped for a few days. (I called back this numbers back but the number is not in service.) Then, today i got phone su****ious phone calls from unknown number and he said that his name was DEVON HAWARD, the same name as the name of the person who claimed to be a CHASE bank representive and called me many times from 800-849-9380. But this time he says that he is from ALLSTATE ins company.(Is it coincience? I don't think so.) He said that we can get some service for only $1, but I know he is not from ALLSTATE and he is going to get more my info. to give me a fake service offer, so I ***g up. Now I am very curious how they call me next time....

Almost daily calls Person on line is foreign and does not speak english well. They say they are chase financial service. Don't know who they are.

the guy who called said that he is with chase bank and want me to make a payment of about $4000.He also asked me my address for verification. When he found out my husband make payment, he asked his number. I thought it was strange because today my husband talked to CHASE BANK about our morgtage. So I asked him his name then he said "I do not need to tell you my name." I too am a a Chase customer - so it does seem that someone has got a hold of records they should not have- what other info do they have on us? What is Chase doing about it?

Say's they are Chase Bank and asking for a former employer. I have informed them that the person has not worked here in over 3 years and to please stop calling. Since I have told them, they continue to call even more!

Same as the others. I get calls from this number on my cell. They never leave a message. I've never called back and instead looked it up and found these sites with complaints. I don't have it as bad as some - but it's still not fun knowing someone is trying to scam you!!

Update to my post above:  I found out that this is happening to other people I work with so I've reported it to our PBX director who is doing some research to try to find the number actually calling through our switch.  Hopefully, he can at least block that number from calling our company.

I've been receiving numerous calls from this number to my work number over the past few weeks and I never answered it until today after Googling the number and running across this.  I had tried calling the number back in the past and always got a fast busy signal or a disconnect message.  After reading these comments today, I answered the call and the man asked for me by my full name and I asked who he was.  He said he was calling from Chase and I told him that I know he's not and that I know this is a scam and not to call me a***n.  He s****ed to say that it's not a scam but I ***g up on him.  I tried calling the number a***n and got a fast busy.I work for a phone company so I researched this number and it IS indeed a disconnected number.  What this means is that this person is calling from a different number but has this 800 number programmed into their phone system as their outgoing number, which alone is illegal.  Unfortunately, it's going to be very difficult to track these people down without knowing the number they're actually calling from.  I do have my mortgage with Chase, whose collections number is ****489380 (just one digit off), so I called them today to report this.  Of course, they told me to never give out any information, that they have all of the information and would never ask for my account number, etc.  Since other people have noted that they are also Chase customers, this makes me wonder if an employee or ex-employee has stolen some of their customers' information.I doubt they will call back after my response but if they do, I'm going to ask what they want and if they s**** asking for my account information, I'll tell them that they have that info and there's no reason they should be asking for my account number or any other info.  I'll also advise them that I work for a phone company, have researched this number and will be reporting themREMEMBER TO NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE.

They call at least once a day. I tried calling them back, but the # is diconnected. They leave no message and if you answer, they put YOU on hold or **** up. Is there any way to stop this?

If you get a call from this number, call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357 to inform them of this.  This way they can add the info you provide to their data base.

There is no reason for any debt collector to call me. This number calls and no message is ever left. I try to call it back and no one ever answers nor is there any type of answering ma****e or identification on the callback.

Receive a phone call from this 1-800-849-9380 number. I called back and the number was disconnected or no longer in service. They have been calling my job and also my home number every day.

This number calls me on my cell phone just about every weekday, anywhere between about 8:30 and 3:00 pm, 3 to 5 times each day. I'm over it, want it to stop!  I've never been able to get anyone on the line, so I can't even tell them to stop calling me.  My carrier doesn't offer call blocking unless it's as a subscription that costs $5/month. I've been online for hours over the past few weeks trying to see if there was some place to report the number (like on this site and a few others) or some way to block calls from that number, and no luck.

This is a scam number,  THe correct number in 800-848-9380,  I told them I was going to call the cops if they call a***n.  Guess what??  The calls have stopped

8/05/09 at 5:00 pm Eastern time I received a call on my cell phone from 800-849-9380.  I couldn't get to my phone fast enough to answer it.  The number appeared in my "calls received" but did not appear under "missed calls".  The person who called did not leave me a voicemail.  When I went to return the call, I got a recording that says "this is a disconnected number or a number no longer in service".  So how did a "disconnected number or a number no longer in service" be able to call a cell phone?!

As a fan of this site and a Chase Mortgage customer, I had been waiting for this call for weeks!  Total Scam.  Broken English. Said Call was being recorded.  He claimed I was 2 months behind on my payments, (I am not, I am up to date).  Then said my payments were sitting in a "Suspend" account.  He was unable to explain what this "Suspend" account was.  I pulled up my chase.com while talking to him and asked him why chase.com showed I was up to date.  He then told me i had to call another phone number to make arrangements.  I asked why he was not able to help me directly if he was from 'Chase'.  He stumbled for an answer like he was reading from a manual.  I told him that I knew this was a scam and to try this shi! on someone else, and I ***g up.

Hey sduapveer in North Carolina, I'm from Rhode Island, so I highly doubt this is a local thing, it's nation-wide, for sure.

I thought cell phones were off-limit for these type of calls!!! WTH?!?!?

this number has called my cell phone 5 times Thursday, 4 times on Friday, and 3 times already today (Tuesday).  I'm lucky they gave me Monday off :-)  Is there anything that can be done to stop these calls? Also interested to know if anyone else called Chase (the bank/mortgage company) right before the annoying phone calls s****ed.  I spoke to them about my ex being a **** with regards to the mortgage on Wednesday, and the calls s****ed on Thursday.

I am in Nevada and have gotten the same calles at about the same time each evening 7:30pm. I have not answered and by the looks of this blog it may be a group trying to get one's personal information in a personal I.D. theft scam. Beware.

This is a fraud number. Chase's collection department's real number is 1-800-848-9380. I called Chase and reported the issue. I tried calling this number back and got the "call for adventurous conversation" or so****ing like that. When you call the "TALK" number, you get a ********* line. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION. Call Chase yourself and make arrangements if necessary.

At first it was a person who identified themself as from Chase. Then I s****ed getting calls from the same number but no one would respond when I answered. When I called the number back, I recording mentioned so****ing about a chat line.

I am experiencing the same problem as the complaints below and was wondering if anyone knows how to make these calls stop. I live in North Carolina and was wondering if this is a local thing or if this is Nationwide. Please include your state if you file a compaint here after me. I have filed a complaint with a local television station to see if they have any suggestions on how to make these calls stop. If I find out I will return here with a resolution.
