WARNING: Possible scammers tryng to steal your information. This number left me a voicemail claiming to be from Comcast Cable. The message warned me to return my equipment to a Comcast Center or I could face a $500.00 charge on my account. I was then prompted to call 800-869-7808 for further details. However, I called the REAL Comcast Customer Support line and was told that my account is in good standing and no late fees or equipment charges were imminent.
I work for Onprocess technology and trust me that place is ridiculous. ***ody has a clue as to what is going on. The employees on the front lines are the only ones that know what they're doing, but sadly since management rules with an iron fist they have no choice but to blindly follow orders. There are too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Honestly, 90% of the employees on the phones thnk that we shouldn't be calling the customers on some of the matters.
This number is for OnProcess Technology which is an "equipment collection agency" that works as a contractor for Comcast. OPT can really mess with your Comcast service and/or bill. OPT is out of control, calling very late on weekday nights, even calling before 7a on Sundays. OPT also uses faked Comcast letterhead in direct mail. OPT *is* a contractor working for Comcast. Even after ordering offical "equipment research orders" with Comcast, that confirm that there is NO EQIPMENT TO RETURN, OPT will continue to make phone calls and send mail to people that they have targeted for "collection." Comcast refuses to provide any written confirmation of their exhonerating "equipment research orders." [ Comcast can remotely read the serial number of every piece of Comcast equipment that is connected to your service. Comcast can confirm what equipment you have and what equipment you don't without sending anyone to the premise. ]There is no point in talking with OPT. Call Comcast and arrange for an "equipment research order." EQR may require up to three weeks to complete. If the EQR confirms that there is no equipment to be collected, HAVE COMCAST CONTACT OPT TO STOP ALL FURTHER CALLS. Keep a close watch on your Comcast bill, to make sure that no equipment fees and/or mysterious "one time charges" pop up on your bill. Should that happen, CALL COMCAST for adjustments. These problems can take several months before OPT stops calling and/or mysterious charges stop appearing on the bill. OPT and Comcast need to be reported to FTC and local/state utility commissions for failing to stop attempting collection of equipment that was never to be collected in the first place.
Two messages left this week from woman with heavy accent. Claims we need to return equipment to comcast. Knows my name. We have made no c****es to our comcast account. Contacted comcast customer service. Rep said they use a service to follow-up on equipment returns when account is canceled or down-graded, but rep could find nothing in my account to indicate that equipment should be returned. Rep said to ignore prior calls. If calls persist, rep suggested that I request serial numbers of equipment, then contact customer service a***n.
Bad quality and speaking. Knows my name. Said so****ing about Comcast. Left call number 1-800-869-7808. Advised to call to avoid charges. My Caller ID could not recognize the caller phone number. I am not going to call there :).
They have a blog, leave them your comments here http://onprocess.wordpress.com/
I received a letter from OnProcess saying that I owe Comcast a Digital converter. This digital converter box was actually sent free to me by Comcast. I called Comcast, they have no idea why OnProcess would be looking for the free digital converter box they sent me.
RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE 869 7808 NUMBER, BAD QUALITY AND SPEAKING VERY FAST HARD TO UNDERSTAND. CALLED COMCAST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS ABOUT. DON'T CALL BACK ON THE NUMBER GIVEN EVER. ONLY CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER.
I just got off the phone with Comcast. I received a similar voicemail today. Forget the name of the woman who left the message, but same deal: she claimed I had not returned all of the proper Comcast equipment last week when my roommates and I canceled our account, and that I should call her back asap to "avoid charges." It sounded sketchy to me, so I called Comcast to confirm. The Comcast rep put me on hold while she talked to her manager and then came back to tell me that, yes, they are in fact legit. Turns out Comcast gives a little grace period for everyone who cancels their account to get the company equipment returned, but this On Process Tech company calls everybody VERY SOON after their cancellation, even before Comcast has it in their records that you returned everything. (Example: I got the On Process Tech voicemail today, but the Comcast rep confirmed that I owed them nothing). Seems like way more work to call everybody just in case they owe so****ing instead of waiting a few weeks, and then going after only those who are still holding onto equipment, but that's comcast for you....
Same situation - "Janice" left message, from On Process Tech..on behalf of Comcast...and wanting to collect equipment for discontinued Comcast.
Tue July 8, 5:49pm - "Patrice" called regarding "unreturned" equipment. Left return call number as "1-800-869-7808". "Call to avoid additional charges."A second caller "Joanie" who called at 7:51pm this evening (July 11th) also stated she was a representative of an outsource company called "On Process Tech" and was inquiring about equipment "on behalf of Comcast" who was supposedly collecting equipment for services she stated was discontinued on July 3rd.After grilling her with a number of very specific questions whe avoided answering she quickly retreated with "thank you and have a great weekend".
Someone says I owe them money and they gave my husband this number. I tried calling and get nothing.
