Leave a CommentThis is in response to RDS complaint on 2/26/10. I received the EXACT same response to a job position that I responded to. The only reason I didn't respond to the e-mail I received is because I had a feeling that so****ing was wrong. So I did a Google search on the 800 number and found this website. Thanks to the previous person for posting his/her situation or otherwise I might have responded to and went ahead and did the credit report. What is this world coming to. Now the ones desperately looking for jobs are getting preyed upon. UNBELEIVABLE!!
They're getting more clever! I responded via email to a Craigslist job posting regarding employment. Here is the link to the Craigslist posting: http://flagstaff.craigslist.org/ofc/1583072104.html I was emailed back with a spam link for a "credit check" and signature lines read: Neal Wilder, HR Manager 1-800-873-1652 1-800-873-1652 I phoned the number from work (well-known hi-tech company with switchboards) and asked to speak with Neal Wilder as I was returning his call. The person who answered the phone was an adult male with a moderately thick Indian/Middle Eastern accent. He kept asking where I got the number from and told me I had the wrong number, then ***g up on me. I called back and it went to voicemail with no identifying message. So, everyone- be VERY CAREFUL when answering online ads for ANYTHING. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS verify any information, especially when there is personal information being asked for!! Here is the entire email I received: Thank you for your interest in our position. After reviewing your information, we feel you are a perfect fit for what we are looking for. Please note that we are looking to fill this position as quickly as possible and you must be able to s**** working no later than March 22, 2010. However, if you are able to s**** sooner, that would be wonderful. We need an individual who learns quickly and is able to work both independently and as part of a team. Please also note that this position does require you issuing checks to our vendors and having access to a company credit card for ordering supplies and as such, a credit check will be required. Ifyou have any money related or theft charges, please do not continue. It currently takes us 4-6 weeks to have a background check run and have the results returned to us, so we are asking you to run a free credit report at http://bit.ly/dgFwyZ and bring it with you to the interview. Once you have run the credit report using our link, we get an email that you have done it (we do not get a copy of the report, just the name of the individual who has completed it) and we will call you to set up an interview. Please note that we are not looking at your credit score, we want to ensure that you have no county ordered judgements or ordered res***iution payments, specifically from DOR or DRR (division of revenue recovery & division of res***uion recovery) on your report, as this indicates possible criminal activity. And be sure to bring your report with you to the interview so we can review it there and hopefully hire on the spot. (like I said, we need to fill this position quickly). Thank you for your time and we look forward to working with you in the future. Neal Wilder, HR Manager 1-800-873-1652

No, they are just scammers looking for your info. I received this exact number in an email requesting my credit info after I responded to a job ad through Craigslist. They are looking for your personal info in order to scam you. See details below in full posting.
Some dude called me from this number on my cell and was like "hellooO,helloooo..."all up my ear and then ***g up! I called back n went straight to the answering ma****e. How rude! How did he get my number?
They called me asked for Credit Card info, proceded to ask them for their address, they kept c****ing the subject. Reported them to the FTC please do the same if you encounter them, you can report them at this number 1-877-FTC-HELP (
Asked them for an address so we can go down there and pick up the cards in person and they attempted to c****e the topic when they realized we wouldnt drop it they ***g up on us, i think this is a scam please dont give them any information. Proceeded to call the police station and report this number.
12-23-09: RECEIVED CALL ON MY CELL FROM 800-873-1652. HERE IS MY NORMAL PHONE PRACTICE, YOU MAY WANT TO FOLLOW IT. I ALWAYS LOOK AT MY PHONE TO SEE WHO IS CALLING. IF THE NUMBER IS NOT LISTED IN MY CELL PHONE BOOK "I DO NOT ANSWER THE CALL". INSTEAD, I CALL THE NUMBER BACK LATER ON MY FREE TIME OR MY LAND LINE TO TRY TO FIND OUT WHO IT WAS. IF NOT, I THEN REPORT THE CALL TO DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. NORMALLY I DO NOT GET THE CALL A***N. I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT ANSWER THE NUMBER, THEY WILL THEN CONTINUE TO CALL YOU. WHY WASTE YOUR MINUTES AND YOUR TIME TO ****PY PEOPLE WITH ****PY LIVES. THANKS FOR HAVING THIS WEB PAGE.
this call came to my cell phone. My cell is for family emergencies not from strangers. What's with these people. They need to stop this foolishness. Only the phone number was displayed; no company name

Received call said won 2-$100 gift certificates. When told she has wrong number, she kept talking, so just ***g up. My advise this is a scam, do not provide ANY personal information.
I just got a call from this same number you all reported at 9:00am this morning, as soon as I heard the "India" accent, I answered the call as a business name and asked "how can I direct your call" they ***g up. So, I wrote the number down that showed up on my caller-id. I called back the number, it just kept on ringing with no answer. So s***bag. Why don't those people from India go back to their country and get their people to buy their scam.
It's amazing to read about these "people from India and people offering gift cards". They are writing that so you will answer the phone and tell them to stop calling you. HOWEVER... Those "reviews" were written by debt collectors. DO NOT ANSWER. No one from that number is selling anything, they are trying to collect debt. And they know that most people will google search the phone number, so they post things about it just being a company offering so****ing in hopes you will read that, and answer to tell them to stop calling. IT'S NOT. Be warned.
Got a call claiming I had $200 worth of grocery coupons and gift cards for free because of the products I had bought in the previous year. The person had a heavy indian accent. Into the call, he asked for $3.90 to cover shipping and handling costs. I said no thanks ...he continued to ask for $3.90 , I just ***g up.
I just received a call today from this number. It was a Indian man to with a very strong accent. I could ***ely understand him until i heard soemthing about winnipeg 2-$100 wal-mart gifts cards. I was goign along with it until he asked for my address which i replied'i don't feel comfortable giving that out' he then asked if i live in ca***a, i said 'yes' then he ***g up. Geese these people go get a REAL JOB!!

As i read other complaints received from this number, had i given my address next step would have been to give credit card to cover $1 processing fee. These people should be in JAIL
Received a call from 800-873-1652 and a heavily accented Indian voice told me I was receiving two $100 Wal-mart gift/rebate cards for having completed a survey about my shopping experience at Wal-mart. I had completed a Wal-mart survey where they would randomly select someone to receive a rebate card, so I kept listening, until they claimed they needed me to provide them a $1 "processing fee" for my rebate cards to be mailed to me. A call to Wal-mart's customer service line revealed that if you have completed a survey and are selected as a winner of a real rebate card, Walmart will contact you via certified letter. The "Consumer Discount Network" the Indian caller referred to is yet another scam. I filed a complaint online at the FTC's website.
i got a call from this number at 9 in the morning. I answered it and was promised a $200 walmart gift card for $1. I listened to all the information. And by the end of the call the gift card was no long being talked about. He was talking about consumer discoung network. I wrote down all the information and gave a fake card number.Just to see if they would be calling back.
I have gotten telemarketer and debt collector calls from this number on my cell phone every day for weeks asking for someone I've never heard of
Same deal as the rest, only they knew my address too! Luckily, I have recently moved and they only knew my previous address. I s****ed yelling at the man that it was not my current address, I didn't know how he had it, and that I wanted to stop receiving their phone calls. The man, with the indian accent, said he wasn't sure how he had "wronged" me and that he would call back tomorrow, and ***g up! This company is absurd, and should absolutely be reported! Thank goodness they don't have my current address, who knows what they would do with it!
They call about once a week. Usually right as I'm getting or after I get my kids to bed. When I try to call back all I get is a message to hit zero for the operator and then it says "your message has been recorded" No information and no way to contact whomever is calling.
Received 2 calls from "Jason" the 2nd one after 9PM. They wanted to verify mailing address, name, phone etc. I explained that I wouldn't verify anything personal until they told me who they were representing. They wouldn't identify anything without me giving them personal info. BEWARE! THIS A SCAM!
Called at 6:30pm. Left a VM and it was heavy breathing for just a second and then they ***g up.
How can I stop these types of calls? Everyday it's a different number with same results...no message
Got missed called message on my phone, tried calling back back but know answer... Cowards!!
Whomever called, called twice, left no message both times. I did not recognize the number, so I did not answer. No name, no message either.
Same thing here; 8:00pm... foreign accent... kept asking for my mother and I kept telling him I was the mother...trying to give me a $200 Walmart rebate card for being a valued customer because I make my payments on time? I never use a credit card. I asked for the name of their company they said it was The Human Network and that they own most gas stations, department stores... etc... and that he was going to transfer my call to confirm my acceptance? When I s****ed asking more questions he ***g up on me.
This person calls at 7am, 9:00am,11:30am, 8:30pm. They NEVER say anything, yet they are STILL on the line.I hear them in the background typing & breathing. Then when you call back, thier line is busy. I am on the NO CALL Registry, yet, THIS IS HAPPENING!! NEEDLESS TO SAY, "I AM VERY UPSET", AT THE ANNOYANCE & AT THE QUALITY OF THE "No Call Registry". DO NOT TRUST THIS NUMBER OR GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION TO THEM, RINGS LIKE A SCAM, ACTS LIKE A SCAM, PROBABLY A S***!!
I received a call for the Walmart $200 rebate card.. because I'm such a great customer with my credit card. (I can't remember the last time i've used my cc in a walmart). Anyway, all she needed was my ID number on the back of the card. She was very nice when I suspected fraud, and offered that I call her back. But just because she gives me a phone number where she can be reached, doesn't mean it's not a clever scam. She said she represented "Consumer Discount Network" and the number she used was 1-877-209-1248.
Habib trying to **** out his goat.
I.D. them in your phone contacts as "Do Not Answer" and****ign it a SILENT ring tone. You'll never know they called.
They just s****ed calling my cell. I saved as "Do not answer" and gave it a silent ring tone. They can call as much as they want!

My 16-year old son received a call from this number on his cell phone. I took the phone from him and listened to the sales pitch. I was told that due to my credit card purchasing history that I qualified for their program. I asked what program and he told me he represented Auto Advantage. I told him he was calling my sons cell phone number, who is a minor, and he is to remove the number from his list immediately and not call a***n. He said that since I must be the owner of his phone then it must've been me that qualified for the program. I told him that wasn't possible and that he should be calling me to sell me so****ing not my son. He then asked for my phone number. I told him "Absolutely not!, and remove my son's number from your list!" He continued arguing, I continued to tell him no and finally had to **** up on him.

Male caller called 3x on Labor Day night. Last time 9:48 p.m. Called twice after being told not to call a***n. Claimed my name was selected to receive $100.00. Cut him off before receiving further info.
got this call at 10:08pm which is after 9:00pm which means they are breaking the law!!! It only rang two times and when I tried to answer there was no one on the line. I called back but all I get is busy.
Called our house at 10:30 pm then ***gup when we asked to speak to a manager.
the guy (indian sounding-****stan?)said I was getting a gift certificate for using my Visa a lot. He rambled off an address, but it was not my correct address. Seems like a scam to me.
Calls way too often
called and told me he loved me and said he was from the states despite a strong non-american accent. Asked him to take us off their list then the number calls back a***n within 5 minutes and s****s trying to sell some credit card and free $100.
Just got a call from them, the guy (indian sounding-****stan?)said I was getting a gift certificate from Walmart because we shop there alot. That was the first tip off, we don't shop at that place. He did s**** to ask me for personal info. watch out for this caller.
Noone there when I answered. Several calls a day. No callbacks allowed
They said that they are from a company called "consumer network" and asked me for credit card info to charge $1.95 shipping and handling fee so that they can send me $100 walmart giftcard.
this number sounded like a call from a call center in iNDIA. The person was trying to sell some type of service or product, with the accent it was difficult to tell.
