Leave a CommentI received a BofA phishing email today asking me to verify my account information. The phone number for more info was listed as 800-887-5749. Even though I suspected this to be a phishing scam, I called the number (from my cell phone and blocked the caller id) so that I could quiz them and play with them a bit. To my frustration they just kept me in the "your call will be answered soon" loop! The email wanted me to confirm my credit card info.........I don't have a credit card with BofA so it was easy to spot this scam. Just wanted to have a little fun with these losers and make them think they had a live fish on the line for a few minutes! : )I called the real BofA number and reported the incident and forwarded the email to [email protected] for their review. BEWARE..........banks never ask you to verify information like this online. ALWAYS call the number you were given at account opening. NEVER call a bank phone number given to you in an email no matter how legit it looks and NEVER CLICK ON THE WEBSITE LINKS THEY PROVIDE.Reply !

received this email today, was su****ious when it asked for SS#, did not reply to it, forwarded it to Bank of America
This is a valid phone number. It is the BofA Verified by Visa support number.
I got the same email and what makes it funny is that my account has been closed for years due to over draf fees. So right there I new it was fake.
I just called Bank of America (800-432-1000) and they said the e-mail is a fraud. They asked me to forward the bogus e-mail to [email protected].
