I have been getting text messages from an

Phone calls, sometimes I answer, no one there. My home phone is on Do Not Call List. How do they get around this?

Call came in 9/23/08 at 2:34pm (Eastern time).  Used auto redial and went to a company called Staton (www.stantononline.com).   Said that they have been getting several ***dred complaints about this same occurance.  The number that was re-dialed was NOT 800-888-8888.Sound like some telemarketing is hijacking/line riding the phone system to make their calls.

At 2:13 pm on September 23 2008 someone call at the number 800-888-8888 i have caller id with no name and the phone rang two times and when i said*****o two different time they then ***g up on me while ago.

called this # back. the lady said that they were staton & casual clothig co. they only take orders and do not call anyone. she said some one is using their # trying to scam people out of some shipping fees of some kind. she said they were out of dallas and are trying to get a new #. she said do not answer this call or talk ot anyone from this #.. if they make a call it would show up as area code 927. hopr this helps.

Who is 8009-888-8888? They called and there is ***ody there. This is illegal form of surveillance to see if anybody picks up. This is to tabulate knowledge when you are home for data mining. This is illegal. Make them stop please!

Got a call from this number on my cell phone early Sa****ay morning. Didn't pick up and number seemed strange. Obviously from a commercial en***y spamming that wanted not to be identified. We need to have these people jailed.

got a call from this number at 1:48 pm on Sept 6, 2008, a Sunday afternoon !!!! There was no response and heard an audible disconnect after about 20 seconds.

Received a call from this number (according to CallerID) at 1158 EDT on 9/7/2008. I AM in the do-not-call registry.

I keep getting unwanted phone calls and I'm on the Do Not Call Registry...

I am on the National Do Not Call List, yet I received a phone call from 800.888.8888 on Monday July 28, 2008 at 9:01am. I did not pick up as I don't answer #'s I don't recognize. I get a call from 800-888-8888 every other day on my cell phone and it is eating up my minutes

I got the same thing as everyone else...when I answered, no one was there AND they called a business cell phone, which is also registered on the do not call list.

Called cell phone, showed as "Name unknown." Called on 07148 at 7:22pm. Did not answer. Caller did not leave message.

I received several calls from this number in the past, but did not get curious enough to call the number back until today....I reached "Staton Corporate and Casual". Do their computers call random numbers, or what?

When they call a***n and they will call a***n. Answer the phone stating the following:"Thank for the $2,500 that the attorney general of my state will be collecting from you on my behalf for violating the no solication law for harassing a telephone number with calls registered with the federal and state Do Not Call Registry."  It works everytime. They will either **** up or trip over their tongue.

Somebody called, I screen my calls anyway and after the answering ma****e message was over it ***g up. I *69-ed the number and 1-800-888-8888 came up.

I don't know why who ever is calling and who it is doesn't leave a message. It's irritating.

I recieved a call and I called the number back and it is statononline.com, some type of clothing merchant. The only way we can stop these people is to take action a***nst them for invading our privacy.

Just got the call at 9:05 am eastern time on July 5th to my business number. Been getting these types of calls a lot only to my business number ***. caller ID says 800 service.

yup 8:45pm pacific time 4th of july **** up call. I am on the do not call list as I am sure most of you are as well. I am s****ing to think they sell those numbers for these types of calls! Sheesh.

Phone call on a Friday night from 800-888-8888, heard a recorded message sounds like a business called State Local (it is hard to understand their recorded message). Probably a scam.

It's not Staton. I work for Staton and we are closed on all weekends. Apparently the company making these calls is using our number for their caller id. Our company shows up with a local Dallas number.

800-888-8888 apparently a computer generated call with no living person on line when we pick up (On a Sunday)

Staton.com... even left a message. I have no idea who they are, nor what they want. I wished they just quit calling.

9pm Sat evening.  Called a cell phone.  Called back sunday morning so****ing about state and corporate according to my hubby?

Sunday morning at 9:15 / call and **** up / smells like telemarketer trying to validate working numbers...I think I'll call my local phone co. and ask how they managed to retrieve that number on the call trace.
