So I was trying to watch a high school baseball game on the East Coast call And I hit OK and I got sent to a site that said one dollar and you can watch for the day. This is from the NFHS site which is legit, obviously this was not playing. I did not get to watch and I called Capital One immediately. I was then instructed to call the companies, and cancel that “subscription” … which I did, and then I started getting calls from “capital One“ but it was listed as unknown, so I answered the phone today, the guys harassing me that I need to cooperate with him because there’s been charges on my card, so I asked to speak to a supervisor but I already knew they were frauds, and then when I questioned them they hung up. My friend works in India and they were in India, and he works on telephone fraud from there and they are trying to bust these huge calling centers. So just an FYI to everyone… I fixed it with Capital One gave them the number, canceled the card. 👍🏼

SCAM CALL - Spoofing name of Capital one. I didn't answer and called did not leave message.

Call showed as Capital One. I researched it and it came from: D Ri Ren Center 8705 Henderson Rd. Tampa, FL 33634 Caller D Ri

A call came from "supposedly "Capital One." I looked up the number and it was a D Re near Tampa, Florida. Tried to call the number but there was no response.

Caller from this number indicated that he was with Credit Card Member Services for Visa and Mastercard. He stated that he could get the interest rate down on all my credit cards. He did have some information, seemingly, on some of my credit cards. He gave his name as Jason Cross, with a call back phone number as 786-855-1203, ext 193. I have not returned the call, as of yet. If I do, it will not be from my cell phone, which is how I received the call.

A Capital One imposter saying someone tried to use my card over the phone. Common M.O. I told the person before giving any info I would call Capital One to verify their claim. I called the number on the back of the card. There is no problem with my card according to Capital One.

Received letter in Mail saying they are from Capital One. For a auto pay payment service for your private labor credit card because of status change with your credit card account. I don't have a Capital One credit card.

I received a call from this number. The marketer was trying to sell me Identity Theft Protection Services from Capital One. Nothing led me to beleive it was a scam. The number on the back is on the old credit cards, but apparently the new credit cards have another number. Checked the Corporate Website, this number is legit.

The person I spoke to said she was calling from Capital One.. she said it was a courtesy call to let me know about a legislature..blah blah blah.. something about a $29 overlimit protection plan, then she asked me for my zipcode and I hung up.

OwnUp2UrDebt;  The phone number is not on my C1 card as you say and I do not owe any money.  Capital One is no different than a crack dealer, pushing debt on people like drugs.  Capital one is just getting rich off of the working man like every bank in the world.  Scammers!  When C1 calls soliciting confidential information as a bank, claiming they can not email me the same info because it is against federal law that makes you scammers and liars.   Go get a real job!!

I work for capital one credit cards. This is a general customer service number. You can varify it with the back of your credit card. No messages will be left on solicitation calls. If we send you a card and you do not call to activate it as instructed, we Will call to make sure you recieved the card or if its lost in the mail. its to protect you. If you owe us money, We will call whenever. Legally we have that right! Flat out if you cant pay your bill you shouldnt have borrowed the money! you own it..pay it, or shut up! If there are fraud concerns we will leave a message. And if you call us expect to give info because your name alone is not enough! get over it america!

Hilarious.If Capital One is calling you several times, the likelihood is that your account is in collections, OR it's a sales call (letting you know about a current offer), and in that case they don't leave messages. If you're not sure, hang up and call Capital One yourself, and give them the info they ask for to access your account, because YOU called them!

You people are paranoid.  All of you that say it's a scam or it's not C1 should back up what you say, or be quiet.  Perhaps professional help is in order.  C1 does make advertising calls.  They will not leave a message if it's a short time offer.

this call keeps coming in on my employer issued cell?  everyday twice a day!

I received this call twice, so far this week. It asks for my 16 digit Capital One number, but I didn't trust it. I called the number on the back of my Capital One card and told them that I've been receiving a call from them but was unsure why, as my account is in good standing. She told me that she could see that a telemarketer was calling me, and that I could just ignore the calls. Ignoring the calls isn't good enough, for me, so I asked to be taken off of the telemarketer's list. She did so in a matter of minutes, but also informed me that it may take several weeks for the request to go through and that I may still receive calls from this telemarketer until it does.

I keep getting calls with no messages as well. I do have a capital one card but it's up to date so I'm not sure whats going. This is the number I have to contact them on the back of my card though.

This number calls my cel phone at least 3 times a day.  Never leaves a message.  When I answer they want my credit card info.  I just hang up, but the number continues to call and show up on my caller id.

I always miss this call, I called backt he first time ans it stated it was capital one and to enter my CC# I didnt do so because I know there are a lot of scams.  I pay all my bills so I totaly knew it was a scam.  Besides ceditors have my address if its very important  they will mail me something legit.  Never give your info to someone who calls you, especialy an unknown number...

This number has called me at least 10 times in the past week and never left a message.  After reading the above posts, I just wondered if anyone knows how to block the calls or get them to stop calling?

CALL IS PHISHING FOR CAPITAL ONE ACCOUNTS.  This is not Capital One.  I received call, no message.  When I call back, they want account number.  I press option to talk to someone because I think this is odd fraud and get same "technical difficulties" message. I contacted Capital One who I do actually have an account with because I know there is no reason for them to be contacting me.  THEY CONFIRMED THEY DID NOT TRY TO CALL ME ABOUT MY ACCOUNT.  Capital One said if you ever get a call from their offices asking for account information, their policy is, they expect the customer to hang up and call them back on a phone number that's shown on your valid statement or actual credit card.  They note all calls to the account and already have your account number when calling you so there is no need to ask for it.  DON'T BOTHER TO CALL BACK AND DON'T GIVE THIS NUMBER ANY INFO.  FILE A POLICE REPORT!!

Number keeps showing up never leaves voice mail. I called back said it was Capital One asked for my three digit security code from the back of the card. I would not give the code...said he needed it because they had recieved mail back from my address. This seems like a scam to me!

I told the woman that if I HAD an account that they should have my SS no., since they have my unpublished, and blocked cell no. She said she couldn't do anything withiut the SS no. and hurried me off the phone. SCAM?

This number is coming up on my caller ID up to 7 times per day. Never a message and when I have answered a few times I am on hold with music??????? Very irritating.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!  Got two calls today - i missed the first but answered the second.  Lady said she was from CapOne, and wanted to make sure I received the card they mailed.  I asked why they mailed me a card, she said because the old one was "probably expired".  I asked what she meant by probably - couldn't they check that in the computer?  She said she couldn't couldn't access that on her computer.  I said that I would call CapOne myself to check on it.  She asked me if I had the phone number, and I said I could get it myself.  The phone number on the caller ID is actually the number for CapOne...but I did call the actual Customer Service for CapOne immediately, and they told me that nobody has called me from there and that they have not sent out a new card.  I don't know how those people got my name, but THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFO TO THESE PEOPLE!!!!

I think it is capitalone and it is because you have mail that is being sent back and they want you to change your address.

I'm getting calls from this number. when my voice message pick up, they hang up. I looked the number up see its from Capital One. I have no business what so ever with these people. But they do send a constant flow of pre approve credit card application my way which I simple tear up and throw away. I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST. And how on earth did they get my number? I'm not even listed in the phone book.

i have been recieving 3-4 calls a day from this number for over a week, and will not answer it because they dont leave a message, so assuming its an automated message, i will not answer it, but would like the calls to stop because i have capital one card, its activated, but has no balance on it cause i have not used it.... annoying!

Ive been receiving calls from 800.955.7070 for a few weeks now. Ive never answered the calls, and no message is ever left. I do have a capital one credit card, but am not behind in my payments what so ever. So why do they keeo calling me?????

I got a call from this number 4 times in one day and they finally left a message on the last phone call so I called them back.  It was capitol one and they said that I had a pending account.  I had them cancel the account because I have never applied for anything through capitol one.  Now they have been calling me everyday and not leaving a voicemail.

They call me at the same time everyday, and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, but never leave a voicemail.  I don't answer, so I don't know why they are calling, but they're not leaving a voicemail so I assume it's an automated message.
