Company is sending emails with an account alert to call this number. The first thing they ask for is verification of your account and social. The voice menu and options sound just like WaMu. The email has an embedded link in it and the reply email is sketchy. I called WaMu and forwarded the email to their fraud dept. Call only the 800 number on the back of your card if you get an email and account alert!
Called me saying my account has issues that need to be resolved. They gave me a number to call. I called WAMU directly from the number I have on my card and there is nothing wrong with my account. This is a scam.
WamuCanHelp.com is a Official Wamu Bank Website. I called the Bank and they confermed it. It is Not A Scam Website... With that said, I too was getting the calls. After 5 calls and 45 minutes and 3 managers and 2 call center operators. I put a end to the Calling. Want to know How? Call
i had a call that i feel is very strange and the number is

I recieve calls 24/7, several x's a day. S****s out like you won so****ing,if you listen to whole message it ends with saying wamu can help. Then I recieved A letter w/ web address and was going to reply, luckily I saw the # I had on my letter listed as a scam #.
Received e-mail from this company.
I'm not certain I got a call from the same number, but it is the same situation (except I never got an email). I tried to make payments through the wamucanhelp.com site (which is legit- it's set up for late payments only, so it doesn't use your username/pw). They always had a lame excuse for why my payment didn't go through, though. They 'blocked' my bank account number b/c they said I entered it incorrectly and when I asked them to unblock it, they had no reason why they couldn't, but stated firmly that I had to pay with a different checking account (I only have the one). I got 3-5 calls per day, but never received info that my payments never went through. I had to call to see why my bank account had not been charged. Eventually, I had to make a payment by phone (costing $9, instead of the free of charge wamucanhelp.com). And even now, though their 866 number tells me they received payment, it is not reflected on my bank statement, so I'm not sure this is over. But I have to say that I am quite certain I never received the bill they say is late. I'm not the best at tracking my mail, but this is the first time I've been late on my bill. Did anyone else experience this? With their financial troubles, I wouldn't be surprised if this is all a way to collect more fees. Either way, I'm closing my cc account and bank account with them.
received an e-mail telling me it was important to call regarding my wamu account.
Received the same email asking me to log into a site with my card number and last four digits of my ssn. Since I have an online ID, I was su****ious and did not enter the information. How did they get my email address????
I have been getting at least 3 to 5 calls a day over the past 7 days from WAMU card services regarding some "special program" that they are offering that will run out today 9/30/08. I am glad that I did not call the number before I s****ed to check out the webaddress that they said would give me more information about there programm, www.wamucanhelp.com. From what I can gather from the info on the internet, this sounds like a scam to gather detailed information on card holders that have paid late on there account or are about to go into collections. I also think that since the failing of the company and the government bailout situation that is in play right now, there is a good chance that this is going to be a great way for debt collection companies and identy thiefs to get vital information from people hoping that WAMU is offering some kind of "helpful program" to lessen there obligation on there credit card. I have been called and have voicemail from Eddie at
THIS IS A SCAM FOR SURE. BE AWARE. PLEASE CHECK BACK OF YOUR CREDIT CARD. IT ALREADY HAVE THE RIGHT NUMBER FOR YOU TO CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION.
This phone number was given to me to call though I don't know specifically which particular phone number from Washington Mutual (WAMU) has been used. One month recently I received calls about every 2 to 3 days for about a month or over. These calls s****ed when I was only about 6 days late with payment. Then the next month I received calls from a debt collector for Wamu which is called ICS. ICS called me between 3 to 5 times a day, except right on Labor Day. I don't care if these people are trying to collect a debt, they should not be calling so often and bugging me for money. I explained myself to each of them once or twice and then after that I continued to **** up. Every now and then I told them off. Washington Mutual or otherwise known as WaMu has taken over the calls a***n for the month of September and calls me as much as ICS did in August. Which is on the average of 3 to 5 times a day. I have threatened some people before that I would block the call if they continued on.
received email stating they needed to talk to me about my account and to either call this number or login to "www.wamucanhelp.com" when you go to wamucanhelp.com, there is a "login" that asks for your card number!
I am concerned that my personal information/iden***y has been compromised, and find that it is****ociated to me paying my bill late this month. I received an email, and two phone calls. Phone number?
