Said there was fraudulent activity on my card. Knew what kind of card that I had. I ***g up and they tried to call back twice. Contacted my credit card company and confirmed that they had not attempted to contact me.
This is a legit #. I called today after a week or more of having my acct frozen due to su****ious fraud use. The acct is active and after the call, I then called Chase via the back of the card and confirmed such action. The card # was closed; inaccessible. I logged into my Chase Acct and found it replaced with my new CC#. So, yea... this number is legit.
Pertaining to fraudulent use of my credit
Fraudulent activity
Told me there was su****ious activity on my credit card and to call back with my credit card account number
No thank you, and i ***g up
Got the call on my work phone. I don't have a Chase account (my husband has one), but no one other than people at my company know my work number. Did not answer since I****ume all unknown callers to my work line are spam.
it is not a scam but call the number on your card to be safe. I did and they verified the call. my card was compromised and they are replacing it.
This is not a scam. 800-955-9060 is fraud dept at chase.
I just received a call from 800-955-9060 ( they left a message ), and I called CHASE. Yes, the number is ligit and not a SCAM. They had put a hold on the first transaction, pending a security check ( not a bad idea ! ). I guess some of the folks on this post either did not call CHASE, or maybe since they refused to give information, were not given any either. I do agree, however, that with all the SCAMs going on, it is really scary to be answering all these questions.
1-800-955-9296 IS A SCAM. When you call, the automated voice prompt asks for your 16 digit card number. If this is a legitimate Chase number, concerning your account and urgent matters, Chase should be more responsible in clearly stating the number belongs to Chase. Sarah Cruz stated that I had to respond regarding so****ing important regarding my account. I asked her to confirm the last four digits of my card number, and she said they wouldn't have that information. She and others call from the number #1-800-933-6004 several times a day. I believe if it were that urgent, I would have received so****ing in the mail.
This isn't a scam. It was, in fact, the Fraud Department at Chase. Yes****ay I set up a balance transfer on an account that has been inactive for over a year. I work for another credit card company, so I'm familiar with fraud verification practices, and was not surprised to receive a call the following day. They were able to verify information off the account, and verify that my online access to the account had been temporarily blocked, due to the hold on the account. After verifying that I was the one who set up the transfer, and not an ID thief, they released the hold on the account and reinstated online access. The accents may seem su****ious, but most credit card company's outsource their calling centers to India and such.
Not a scam. My internet access is blocked to my card. Just gt a call about susp activity.
The message I got told me which card may have had a problem, so I called the number. The computer asked for the card number and the last 4 of my SS#. I ***g up and called the customer service number on the card. There was indeed a question about a charge that I had authorized over the internet, but had been refused. I was able to clear that up and resubmit the charge.
This was NOT a scam for me. I called the number on the back of my card for customer service and sure enough, someone had tried to charge over $12,000 worth of stuff to my account. Since it was a card I seldom use, Chase got su****ious and had declined that transaction (a smaller one had gotten through but it was in Mexico -- clearly not me.) Another reason I su****ious that it was really Chase who had called me was the fact that my online access to that account had been suspended as well. They never asked me my full social or any details other than the security questions I had provided for them when I set up the account. I agree that you need to do your research!
I called Chase (since I used to work with them somewhat) and they cross-referenced my 13 year old son's number they had been calling. This is legitimate. The card holder used to have my son's number, and had not updated his phone information. They removed my son's number from the card holder information database. Chase's Customer Service number is 1-800-955-9296. They will transfer you to the 1-800-955-9060, and if you give them the phone number you were called on, they will cross-reference the file to see who the account belongs to. The number they usually call from is 1-800-***-9078. Do your research, folks. I did.
THIS IS A SCAM NUMBER, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFO!!!!this is without a doubt a scam. what kind of loser, other than some crook trying to scam you, would get on here and try and convince you it's not a scam. They called my home 3 times this morning leaving messages. They said they were the fraud department at visa and asked us to call back. We called and the woman sounded extremely su****ious, so we asked to speak to her supervisor, who was a man with a thick accent. He also stumbled when we asked him to verify that he was visa. We then got a valid number off of visa's website. When we called visa they had no record of calling us, or of us calling them. This guy is a crook, report him.
This is definately NOT A SCAM. I got a call from them today and called this number back. After double checking the legitimacy, I googled the number and found this page. I then called the # on the back of my chase card and confirmed with them that everything was legit, and it was.STOP SAYING THIS NUMBER IS A SCAM WHEN YOU HAVE NO CLUE. IF THE CALLER ID NUMBER IS UNAVAILABLE OR THEY ASK YOU FOR ALL 16 DIGITS ON YOUR CC, THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS NECESSARILY A SCAM. ITS FINE IF YOU WANT TO****UME ITS A SCAM FOR YOURSELF, BUT STOP TELLING EVERYONE ELSE ITS A SCAM BECAUSE ITS NOT!!!
I received an unknown call from this number regarding to call them at 1-800-955-9060, to discuss the fraudulent issues regarding my card, to make sure everything is alright. If it were chase people why would they call me with an unknown call. I am sure this is SCAM !
THIS IS NOT A SCAM lol! I had a call from 18009559060 and after finishing with them, I called the number on the back of my Chase Visa card. They confirmed they have spoken with me earlier that day, called the 9060 number and confirmed their legibility, and informed me about information spoken during the 9060 conversation. Only reason I was su****ious was because I gave my new temporary password over the phone and I gave my last four digits of my social security as well. I googled the actual phone number and stumbled onto this site, making me paranoid. Just call the number on the back of your card if you aren't at ease.
2 calls came in today-one on my business phone and one on my home phone-minutes apart-same gal-Michelle- and same number-1-800-955-9060.She left messages saying there was su****ious activity going on with my credit card. I was to call her back and give her the last 4 digits of my credit card. I wondered which one. I have 14. So, I called the number back. No live person only a recording stating I should give my complete credit card number followed by the # key. I ***g up. I typed the number into my google search and found out it was a fraud number-scamming people for your number to use your credit card.
same thing...i came home to this message. when i called they asked for my social security number right away. i would not give it to them. i don't have a chase united airlines credit card but i checked all my accounts and they are fine. it's a scam!
I just got this call. They had my name, home phone number and the last four digits of my credit card. They even knew it was an Amazon card! I quickly called Chase and had the number canceled.
i recieived a call from chase fraud department, asking twice for my account #.i would not give it to them.i had ask them why they called me .they wanted my name and socoll security #.i had said to them this must be a scam.she****ured me it wasn't.what a bunch of bu***hit .i would really like to kick .that *****'s a**.
I just talked to chase and his is valid according to them. Try calling the number on the back of your card and asking them.
got a message from my former landlord saying I should call this number for a suspecious chase visa card activity. I have never had a chase visa card. Called this number, when I s**** to question their legitemateness and their location the person suddenly c****ed to another with some kind of accent, saying they are in Phillipine, but the accent did not sound like phillipinos.I do think this is a scam.
My wife received a call from this number and gave the messageto me. I called the number on the back of my card and was transferred to Fraud Protection Services. She verified that for my chase united credit card, the phone number is 800-955-9060. Everything seemed to be in order. Of course it is always safer to call the number on your card and they can transfer you.
Got a message from this number & was su****ious. Called # on card instead, and there had been no su****ious activity on my card & woman had no idea why I would have been called. I'm in agreement that the # is a scam.
This number is a scam. I recieved a message instructing me that there was su****ious activity on my credit card and that I should call 800-955-9060.Su****ious, I called an official phone number found on the Chase.com website and they verified that there was no activitiy on either of my accounts. To be certain, I had the Chase respresentative transfer me to the Fraud Department. The Fraud Department asked what phone number I was contacted at. I provided them with the phone number and they said that there had been not calls to that number by or on behalf of Chase. When you call the Chase main number they will ask for your name, last four digits of your account, mother's maiden name, zip code, etc. They will never ask for your full account number or social security number as these scam operations will. When you read the other posts here, ask yourself: (1) What do the people who claim that this phone number is legitimate have to ***n? (Answer - your credit card, number, social security number and other personal information) 2. What do people who say that this number is illegitimate have to ***n? (Answer - nothing)If you recieve a suspcious call you to the Chase.com webpage and click on the contact us link in the upper right hand corner for the official contact numbers.
We got a call from this number. I called the Chase number on the back of my card and they confirmed it is legitimate.
