Leave a CommentGot a call...didn't pick up...they left a message saying it was MCS and about lowering my interest rates... I don't even have credit cards!
I got a call today @ 11:20. Once I said*****o and this pre-recorded voice came on, I quickly ***g up. When I called the number back I got a message saying that the mail box for MCS was full.
Got a call this morning from this same number at about 11:30hs. as I was on the other line. I called them back and listened to an automated recording that identifies them as MCS. I've Call Privacy on my line and I also run a program called CallZap which blocks any numbers I enter in it. So they are now in my database and the next time they call the line will be disconnected right away.Cannot wait for the "non-call" list be available in Ca***a. It may not resolve the problem 100% but I think it will help a little.TLhanks
Got the same call everyone's been getting, automated voice and then press '1' to speak to someone, who, with their presumably beating heart intact and all, should relate to the depravity of the situation they are then creating for me and them self. The woman on the other end of the phone chimed in, "are you responding to the option to lower your credit card payments?", I said, "well yes I am responding, I want to know how you obtained my phone number, and contact info, exactly", I said, "...because I have never had any prior dealings or obtained any services from or through MCS." She said, "You do not have to have a service with us to take advantage of lowering your rates....", at which time she completely suc***bed to the stereotypical, nauseating sales s***ch. I stopped her in the middle of her s***ch and told her "that's fine, you're trying to market to me and sell me so****ing right now, BUT the one thing I want, is an answer to the question I asked you; How exactly did you obtain my phone number in order to make this unsolicited call in which you chose to market to me?" When I cornered her with re-asking such a basic question, and made a logical appeal for her to actually answer it, she finally said, "We probably got your phone number from equifax or some other credit reporting authority", I hastily replied, "so I now understand that you, in good faith, obtained my private and personal information through an independent, unsolicited credit inquiry, for which you have a right to make such an inquiry since you are a credit services agency, but for which you have no right to use my personal information, obtained under false pretenses, for the end purpose of direct, unsolicited marketing", I told her "this is wrong, and likely illegal, and I do not appreciate planned misuse of my personal information", I finally told her that if I received any further unsolicited calls from MCS, that I will be pursuing this important issue of my personal rights until complete resolution", she mechanically thanked me, told me to have a nice day, and abruptly ***g-up....I guess reality is a rude awakening for those who would twist it without forethought.
I answered their call and then pressed 1 to talk to a human voice that told me who they represented in some broken English that was hard to understand. Told them vehemently that I did not have any of the named credit cards. They said they would not call a***n. I replied hotly, please don't.Low and behold they called a***n they called once a***n. So what to do now? I am getting up to three or four of these such calls a day and it is a complete nuisance and waste of time. Can't there be a way to stop this?
called me about 11:40. Nothing on the line, so I put the phone on my amp and played them Ghost Riders on the Line. I'm on a do not call list, will have to find out if there are some penatlies cause I understand they're not supposed to call. I have no symphathy for auto dialers. I've talked to my phone service about blocking, but they are generally unhelpful Telus.
Called me at 10:30am - very loud recorded message trying to get me to switch credit cards. Misleading intro made it sound like it was one of those fraud warnings. (so****ing like "We have information concerning your credit cards. It has been brought to our attention that....")
They called me at home, but the line was silent when I answered.
Just got two calls from this number within about a minute and half. These numbers that keep coming up as Unknown name ,do they really think I am going to pick up for them ,if I am home. NOT!!!!!!!
Thursday January 10, 2008Rieceived call from 1-800-961-9830, at 3:43 p.m. No message was left on my answering ma****e. I honestly don't know why a message was not left. What have they got to hide? If they can make a call and want to share so****ing with us then certainly they can let us know the nature of the call and we can return it.
was called by 800-961-9830 the call was a 2 minute automated s***l about lowering credit card interest rates and offered an opportunity to press number 1 to talk with an agent. I pressed 1 and spoke with Ron who identified himself with MCS and said the automated calling system was part of a boiler room operation to identify ****ers naieve and ****** enough to imagine that a company wanted to help losers lower their credit card debt payments. I explained to him that I did not care about their scam but that I simply wanted them to stop calling my phone number.
Called 800-961-9830 and its an adverti*****t for MCS (Metropolitan Collection Services) and they advertise that they help you Get out of Debt. Looked them up on the net and it sounds not too many people too pleased with their services. Just don't pick up the phone.
Called my home this afternoon at 11:22 am and did not leave a message
phoned this morning, no one was on the line. well, I blasted them with #5 so I don't know if someone would have answered eventually.
The number when called back is a mail box for MCS - which is full. Yet MCS's web site says there are fake telemarketers out there scamming people using their name.
