What appeared on my caller ID was "Unknown" and "419".  Naturally, I am NOT going to answer a call that comes up like that.When I play back the voice mail, it's from "the law offices of Alexandria Vaneck" and that I should call 800-999-9637 (and give a reference number).  This is actually UCB Collections, and the practice of calling themselves a "law office" is flat-out illegal under most laws in the US (including Ohio, where they're based).  I called them back, told the person who answered (he said "Law Offices" as his greeting), "I know for a FACT this isn't a law office, this is a debt collection agency, and I'm getting VERY tired of you calling my number and NOT properly identifying yourselves on my CallerID."  Then I ***g up.I'll pay a legitimate debt IF the caller properly identifies themselves both on CallerID and in voicemail, but if they're going to flat-out LIE about their iden***y and/or deliberately conceal their iden***y on CallerID, I'm not going to answer their calls and I'm not going to do business with them.For more info, check out this thread on Ripoff Report:http://www.ripoffreport.com/Search/UNITED-COLLECTION-BUREAU.aspx

i got a message from this number and have no bad debts so i know it is a scam. scam is written all over this... it gave a file number but that is it and could not tell me what it was about.

They keep calling And its a recorded message that has my name and phone #. they call at least 10 times a day, all hours of the day One time, I got a call at 2am!

I'VE BEEN GETTING A RECORDED MESSAGE FROM THIS NUMBER FOR MONTHS...LITERALLY MONTHS.  THE ONLY I.D. ON MY PHONE IS "419".  THAT'S IT!  THAT'S WHEN I CAN SEE IT RINGING.  WHEN A MESSAGE IS LEFT THE NUMBER IS "UNAVAILABLE".  I LISTEN TO MY VOICE MAIL AND THE **** RECORDING S****S IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MESSAGE LEAVING OUT THE NAME OF THE PERSON AND MOST OF THE PHONE NUMBER.  I WANT TO SUE FOR HARASSMENT.  THIS IS HORRIBLE.  I FINALLY, JUST TONIGHT MONTHS LATER, ANSWER IT WHEN IT IS RINGING AND COULD PLAY BACK THE MESSAGE, WHEN I HIT *.  THEY SAY THAT ON THE RECORDING.  WHEN THEY'VE CALLED OTHER TIMES, I'VE BEEN TEA****G OR WORKING AND COULDN'T GET THE **** PHONE!  I'M VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THESE PEOPLE.  I OWE MEDICAL BILLS AND WILL LOOK THROUGH ALL MY CORRESPONDENCE AND SEE IF ALEXANDRIA VANEK'S CORRESPONDENCE IS A**** THEM.  VERIZON TOLD ME THEY COULD BE A SCAM.  I WANTED TO REPORT THEM AS A NUISANCE CALL, BUT SINCE THE NUMBER WAS "UNAVAILABLE", I COULD NOT.   THE OFFICE IS OPEN FROM 8:30 A.M. TO  5 P.M. MONDAY - FRIDAY, SO SAYS THE RECORDING

They call on a daily. You answer and its a ma****e.

THIS IS A SCAM!!! What lawyer do you know that does business over the phone without a legitimate paper trail? There is another site with more comments http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-999-9637 which talks more about this. DO NOT TRUST THEM AND DON'T SEND THEM ANY MONEY!!! If they do not send you a legitimate notice of collections with the reason that you are in collections, I strongly suggest that you tell them to give a b***job to a loaded ****gun.

If they send you a legitimate notice of collections, then that is so****ing else, but until then tell them to find a nice tall building out there in Ohio, climb on the roof and sing "I Believe I Can Fly".

I have received this message several times.  If they can not tell me who they are and why they are calling I am not going to oblige them by returning their call.  Also if they are a collection agency - I have no outstanding bills.  Be careful.

Received message asking to call 1-800-999-9637 and was given a file number.  Called number and was placed on hold.  Waited a couple of minutes and ***g up.  If they can't answer the call, I'm not wasting my time.

Recieved call, no human to talk to call 2 times a day and never show up on the caller ID.  If they can't afford a person, I can't call them back!
