Express recovery is used by the University of Utah as an outside collection agency for medical bills. However, they're about as professional as most collection agencies.Chances are that you're delinquent on a bill- I found the number because they called me when my ex-wife put me down as the guarantor- and it was a genuine number. That said- I'm personally more or less opposed to the system under which these guys operate and the fact that they tend to ignore the controls placed upon them. So- read the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They have very strict rules they have to abide by. If they don't abide by them, sue them. They need to be put back in their place- plus debt collection attorneys work on commission. However, also do this- record the calls (they have to make certain statements or it's illegal), record how often they call (trial law has established that more than once a day or calling beyond the hours of eight is illegal), and forward it on to an attorney.That said- do pay your bills. And if you can't, talk to the original creditor- they'll usually work with you. I've never had anyone be impolite about it- and I had 20k of medical bills in one year on a 60k salary- I had to work out a lot of these deals.But if these guys s**** harassing you, don't pay the bill, let the debt collector rack up bad behaviors that you've recorded and sue them for it. I consider it a civic duty. I know that they are guided by laws- but most of the public doesn't- and unless people hold them accountable for breaking the law, they have no reason to follow it. Litigation is kind of a ****py solution, but it's better than letting them run amock.

Sounds like you are the one making these phony phone calls from 801-412-4341.  This is a scam.

It's Bill Collector.It is not a "scam," unless you think that signing your name for services, agreeing to pay for the services, and then ignoring the bills as they come to your house, is a scam.Someone owes money! - maybe not you, but somebody at your house or apartment received (most probably medical) services, and now they want to recover what that person agreed to pay.

This was a woman named Cara that called my mother-in-law. It is a scam. Stay away.

someone also by the name tara or kara left a message on my parent's voicemail asking for me to call them back without stating what business they were from. so my parents****umed she was a friend of mine. But i have no clue who this person is.

The gal that left me a message was Tammy.  All she said was " Hi this is Tammy, please give me a call back"..........I am sorry but if I don't know you and you don't state who you are and your business I am not calling you back.  I am more apt to return a call to a collector if I know who they are and what they are trying to collect.  There are too many scams out there for them to think otherwise, what a ****** way to do collections.

THE CALLER IS NAMED KARA, SHE WORKS FOR EXPRESS RECOVERY ( A COLLECTION AGENCY)CALLS MORE THAN ONCE EVERYDAY, SO ANNOYING, SHE ALSO HAS OTHER NUMBERS SHE CALLS FROM.

Yes, its Tara or Kara - she is from Express Recovery and they are telling my daughter who is not working that she has to pay $400 for a medical bill - her response to my daughter was "so if you aren't working how are you paying your other bills? I expect $400 in my office next week" - they call my home 6-7 times a day every day including Sa****ay & Sunday.

They called me and it is "Express Recovery" - I am****uming it is a collection agency

This has to be a pros***ution ring who keeps calling. The guy leaves a message calling himself 'John', and various female voices all leavE a message with the name 'Liz'.  When asked what they want, they all say it's of a 'personal nature' and they can't say.I have news for them...my dad who they keep asking for has died and maybe they should call and ask what he died of!  PIGS!
