They said they were from eBay and asked me for my birth date and address from 20 years ago (as well as my current address & phone number). Seems pretty unprofessional to start with that - even for a scammer.

Scammer. Just talked to Ebay because of possible phishers of info and doe,this is NOT the number or state where the folks I spoke to are from. THERE NUMBERS DO NOT MATCH ANYTHING FROM EBAY!

got a phone call at 10:45 PM.. Got the # off of caller ID.. Did a search online, and came up with here, with these comments.. Some say SPAM other say NO, its ebay.. Ebay said not them.. # is for century link, and a landline phone # for Qwest Communications.. A landline?? Really??? ! Filed a report/complain with EBAY and woman said they will investigate this.. NO ONE should be calling anyone at almost 11 PM at night.. Like Im going to be "nice" with that one.. DENSE DENSE people out there...

Any missed call I get without a voicemail in this day and age does not warrant a return call back . Ebay is high tech savy why not leave voice message ? Or is it a scam ?

the only time I ever speak to ebay on the phone is when I call them. I have never had a call from them out of the blue. the lady on the phone asked me if my user name was correct then talked about how I needed an ebay store. Ebay cannot access your account without your permission unless they are removing a listing. better to be safe than sorry!!! ebay will only call you if you first call them.

I called eBay and she called a buyer, while I was on the line, but the buyer was unavailable. So the eBay rep. called me back after she spoke to the buyer. This maybe a number shown on all out going calls from eBay.

This number IS NOT SPAM. It's a legitimate number from Ebay, calling to give information or contract you over some issue. Never asked for my log in info or password, or any other personal information. Pretty sure anyone who says that is lying, as Ebay WILL NOT ASK FOR THOSE THINGS.

To the people who say eBay will never call you: You are wrong. eBay does call and it is legit They call sellers with advice etc about selling on eBay. They pitch new products and stuff like that. I find the calls annoying and useless because I know more than they do about selling on eBay. They usually try to set up an appointment for one of their specialists to call you back at an appointed time. It can be useful to new sellers. It is not fishy. It really is eBay calling. I just don't happen to need them, so don't be afraid to talk with them if you can get any help from them. I usually use their calls as an opportunity to voice my complaints with eBay.

I got a call couple of days ago and she asked if I was aware of the new selling evaluation and new protections for sellers I said no but I did read somethings and she is correct. Was odd to have them calling me and didn't seem to be a topic to be calling me about. I know there are some things are changing at EBay.

I got a call from this number an when I answered it no one was there.

I received a phone call from this number today asking for my ebay password!!! The call came from Utah. Upon calling the number back...there was a woman on the recording saying it was ebay....the guy asked where I got my items to sell and obviously knew what they were. CREEPY.

It really is Ebay. They just blocked my account and I have to wait for an email back to find out why.

I work in a certain department and can only help with issues that I'm trained in or have authority to deal with.If your preferences are set, we should not call you for promotional type calls. However, if you have certain trust and safety issues or billing we'll be calling you regardless of your preferences.

Did not answer call but ID says "UTAH CALL" and no mention of eBay.

I received call for help with a dispute through Paypal from Ebay. I was able to verify (by calling different number provided through by Paypal) that this is a legitimate number through Ebay. They put me through to Paypal and helped resolve problem. They do NOT ask for any personal info. The lady agent through Paypal said it was new way to help resolve problems faster. To verify just contact Paypal's help link.

Got a call today from this number.  She said she was Mary from ebay and wanted to help me maximize my feedback and selling.  I asked how she got my number and she said it was the number used on my account when I set it up.  I said no it isn't (even though it was) and she said I am being serious, I'm not lieing, it is the number we have - she started to stutter a little then said she isn't running a scam.  I said please remove my number, I'm not interested in anything you have to offer and she said okay, then apologized for calling, and hung up.Sounded legit since she didn't hound me to stay on the phone and I think I made her a cry a little - was perhaps a little too mean when I said to take me off the list.  Oops.

eBay calling to inform me of recent site and policy changes.This is a legit call.  eBay has recently changed their policies and I've also received emails and messages from them regarding this.

Warning!! This number was somehow remotely put into my paypal account as a mobile payout number. Check your account immediatly and take actions if it is there. It is not from paypal.

I got called today and the lady just gave me some info on the new insertion fees of just 35 cents for fixed items. It was the first time I was called by ebay and I was waiting for some sales pitch or anything else but nothing came. I sounded a bit paranoid and the lady told me she sensed that but we hung up on a cheery note.Seriously, all the people who think this is a scam what on earth do you have to base that opinion on? Nothing! The only suspicious details are that the email she promised to send me to my email address never came and my preferences for being contacted by ebay are off.

My preferences are OFF, too, and they called this morning. I am also on the National Do Not Call list.

Caller said they were from ebay and would send an email. I found no such email in all my accounts including ebay.

I received a call from 8015451800 and it is a scam as my preferences are off, there is no notification via email in my eBay or registered linked eBay email accounts and I have received three phishing emails claiming to be from eBay...but were not. You have a right to be concerned.
