Leave a CommentMy son got that message, from a michigan number, this evening. We told him to ignore it because it's a phishing scam.
I received a call from 802-776-????, Could not get a clear connection. I ***g up and immediately received a call from an 866 area code telling me she was going to translate the other call to me and back.I said no thanks, and she s****ed trying to talk me into it. I ***g up and deleted both numbers.I wish I hadn't. Anyway, I will s**** filing these numbers, on my phone under, "DO NOT ANSWER"It's a ahame AT&T doesn't allow call blocker on their cell phones.
Got the same text today. I called the number and got a recording that it was not a valid number.
Receive text message to reactivate my card. I called the number and as soon as they asked for my credit card number I ***g up. I use sprint for my cell phone and was wondering if sprint is the only ones that are getting this message. That phone number is now disconnected but it was a land line in Rutland, Vt.
Received this text message last night as well. I have reported it to South Burlington Police, and would advise anyone else that has received this call to contact them as well so that one case with multiple parties can be maintained.I will also be notifying VT State Police so that their cyber crimes division will be able to track these guys down.
I receive the same text message yes****ay at 5:25 PM. Caller ID said "1234". Message was "Card Service Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 802-776-8025 to REACTIVATE your CARD.
Just got this message a couple hours ago. I got su****ious right away because they don't mention which bank it is, and on top of that, I don't have any cards with a Vermont bank. My bu***hit sensor kinda went off on that one.
Just received this message as well about my card being deactivated- have also been getting calls from 800-671-7916 daily- they are all **** ups.
Received a text message stating that my card has been deactivated.
Got the same text, not specific about the card company, so I ignored it. Be aware, it's a cheap attempt at a scam, especially since they're using a number from the same area code and just doing random-dials.
wow, what a scam, actually scared me because i used to live in vt
I just received this text also.
I got that text a half hour ago. red flags went up when no mention of what specific card was deactivated was made (not to mention never having heard of credit union services and the low-tech recording). When I tried to call back the number was not in service. I wonder if that can be traced
I just received this text as well, and calling it leads to a voice mailbox. I didn't leave a message, however.
I just got the same Text, and when I called the number I got an out of service message, Thanks scammers!
I got the same Text Message although I figured it was a scam and didnt call the number. I am glad though to know what happens when you do call it!
I got the same message. Also an 802 number
I just got the same message too and was looking on the internet. My cell phone s****s with 802 too.
I am in Vermont. My wife and I both just received the following text message on our cell phones on the Sprint network: From:1234 Sent:Nov11 4:55PMMsg: Card Service Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 802-776-8025 to REACTIVATE your CARD. I called the number and got a robotic message: "Thank you for calling the credit union center 24 hours card services. To activate your card press one. To c****e your personal identification number press 2. To end this call press the pound sign." I pressed 1 and entered the card number 1234-5678-9012-3456 and it ***g up on me. Clearly a scam to get someone to punch in real credit card numbers.
Received a text message stating that my card has been deactivated.
