Got two of these recorded calls during tax season. Male; heavy foreign accent. The CID phone number was listed as US GOVT 804-916-8700 (script begins as follows): "The nature and purpose of my call is to let you know that we have received a legal pe***ion notice a***nst your name under your social security number regarding a tax fraud..." It goes on, and threatens that if you do not return the call you may be arrested, yada, yada, yada. You may file a complaint report to the The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) at 1-800-366-4484 or at www.tigta.gov.
