Female (with accent) called my cell. Stated they were performing maintenance on the 4G LTE towers in my area. Requested my zip code. Stated she was going to send a text message with a 6-digit code and asked me to verify it. I hung up as soon as they made the request.
Called my carrier (Verizon). Rep stated when account managers are added, a secure pin is generated (6 digits). Rep stated someone was attempting to gain access to online account and needed the 6 digit code to add their own name and potentially add their own name without my knowledge or approval. Rep added this number to the Block Caller list.
