Leave a CommentI received a call from this number at 7:08 pm and no message was left. after reading through the below, I decided to leave this note.
They asked for my parents but called my cell number. They said they were calling from UCSB which I thought was awkward since it was about 730 p.m. I have had several missed calls from 893 numbers and every time I call back it seems like a private line that has no answering ma****e. BEWARE!
I recently graduated from UCSB and also work on campus. I almost answered this call (to my cell phone) the first time they called, thinking it could be someone from my office that stayed late, except I didn't recognize the extension (4509). They called me a***n last night, and I still didn't pick up. They never leave a message.
The person identified themselves as a University of California at Santa Barbara representative. Our caller ID said this call was from UC Santa Barbara. They asked specifically for my daughter and knew her by name. They asked for her cell number because i said she was not home. I said i was not going to give her number out, they ***g up. My wife said this has happened recently and the caller a***n ***g up. I dialed the number back and got a recording with a woman speaking. This is very su****ious, and i am worried for my daughter!!
when I returned this call, it transferred to a number in Thousand Oaks, CA s****ing with 452. The gentleman who answered said he hadn't called me but asked instead -- are you calling from UCSB? Possibly this is a UCSB prank?
