this is an email scam to get information out of people I have reported all the information I had to the state police so see who gets the last laugh.

Why would you mail a check when you have to come here to pick it up obviously some sort of scam. I would like for this person to come here so I could get a picture of them and post it because there obviously some kinda ***** and Id like my 3 year old son to smack them in the face

Googled the number and learned it is in the Dominican Republic! A variation of the other emails, and another name: "Thanks for the prompt response to my mail. Same situation but with a client of mine. I am selling furniture for her and she posted it on Asheville, NC craigslist. The email was the same but looked fishy so I googled the number...and here I am. Not sure why he does this, is he stealing cell numbers? I called from a land line. Thank goodness for this site, my client was excited to sell the items but we caught the scam here. THX!

Same story re my craigslist ad verbatum.

I just received the same e-mail stating that he was hearing impaired and gave me a number: 809-966-5256. He wanted to buy my couch and to please cancel my craigslist los angeles ad. He needed my name, address, and phone number to send me a certified check from his bank. I did call the number via cell phone and heard a message that "the caller was not available" or so****ing to that effect. At which time, I googled the phone number and found all these complaints. I dialed my cell phone company who stated I would be charged $1.56 for the call to Dominican Republic. They also don't track these fraudulent numbers.

The e-mailer said this # was a hearing impaired # for his phone... I Have furniture for sale on P***nix craigslist... This guy writes and says he is hearing impaired and he can only deal via e-mail and says take my ad down he is buying it! He said he will mail a certified check and wants my name, address, cell# and stuff. My ad says cash only, YOU HAUL IT...So bring me cash when you pick it up... If this is SPAM kindly halt correspondence, and added that I report all scams to the FCC. so I never heard another word. This is his mail to me: Thank for the prompt response to my mail. Also received an email from Craigslist stating that Lauretta was hearning impaired and wanted to send a cashier's check for an item listed on craigslist (sight unseen.) When I replied to Lauretta Coro***o, got a reply from Lauretta Colorado. Refusal to meet regarding the item for sale, but implied that she was now living in my state (recently transferred here from Cardiff, CA)

Received fake Craigslist response wanting to pay with for a table with a cashiers check. Said he moved from Cardiff, CA and was hearing impaired. "Hello, I'm Scott, I am satisfied with the description and condition of the item listed above by you on the Ad, Please let me know if the piece is still available for sale and kindly attach more pictures if available. I have a problem talking on phone because I'm hearing impaired I look forward to hearing from you soon."

Received a reply to an on-line "for sale" add I posted.  It included this # to call ... " I use a hearing- impaired phone || 8099665256 as am deaf send me anemail for fast response,"Person wanted to buy my item w/out even seeing it!  Said a moving service would pick up the item.  Assured me that a check would be delivered by the United Parcel Service within 2-3 days. Reminded me that 'UPS' do not deliver to P.O.Box addresses.
