Leave a CommentI know this is late but they called me around the same time they called you guys. On Apr 7th, apparently they called me at my google voice number which I forgot I have and only use for spam. I downloaded the message from Google Voice and here is what she sounds like, if you are unsure of who.http://www.mediafire.com/?mntaffmzej2As much as they sound like a telemarketer, anybody selling debt release or anything regarding credit is a scam.
I got the same message and so did a coworker. I called and asked what company they work for and where they are headquartered. I was told the company is Debt Release, but nothing more. When I asked for more information several operators ***g up on me. I keep calling them with the phone on mute just to tie up the lines. There seems to be just a handful of operators at the number I got. Hilarious.
Just got part of the recording on my cell, same... "minimum payments... lower your rates... last courtesy call... 888-442-0668" SCAM.
just got spammed this call at the office. Same msg that begins "sorry it took so long to get back to you on that credit card program." I ***g up after realizing it's a recording. Annoying ******s. CallerID says Flint, MI
In Missouri same name, same interest rate, 1-810-232-0528
Got the same call last week at my office desk phone. Message s****ed out with "Hi, this is Laura Stevens blah blah following up on our conversation last week. blah blah interest rates blah blah minimum payments blah blah This will be my last courtesy call". Except for the part where this is a scam, the script is well crafted. We've never talked in the and I do not have a need to alter my credit situation. I did call back and when I asked which company they worked for...click. That's the same response I get when I call back all these companies. I just hope people do not fall for these scam artist.I'm going to go out on a limb here, but my guess is that there is no Laura Stevens, unless that's what they named their auto-dialer.
Called my Texas number claiming that since I am only making minimum payments on my card, they could reduce my interest to a low 1.5%. Told me to call an 888 number, never did, since I dont even have a credit card.
just missed a call on my cell from #810-410-4407 the message was from a laura stevens about lowering my credit card debt... the return number she wanted me to call is 1-888-442-0668. I did not call back. I'm from northeast wi
So, I called the number that Dean left on this board because this number obviously was a no-call-back number. I talked with a lady named Andrea who explained they were a debt company and could lower my interest rate on my credit card. Maybe she could, but I'm not interested, just wanted my name off the list. How did they get my cell phone number anyway??!! Annoying!
Call Type: Telemarketer (or SCAM ...not entirely sure which with just limited info)Alleged Iden***y of caller: Laura StevensThe caller wanted me to call back at: 1-888-442-0668. I did NOT call the number since I NEVER solicited the call in the first place. At best, it's a telemarketer; at worst, it's some sort of SCAM.
Same taped message for me too. My phone identified the city and state of the phone number as Flint, MI. I live in downstate IL. Is this area common to any of you?I'd really like to know how they got my number because I am careful about giving it out for any reason.
Left voicemail saying she was Laura Stevens and that we'd talked last week about lower credit card interest rates. Wanted me to call back saying it was the last courtesy call she would make to me about it.

Ditto on Dennis' info. It was either verbatim what Dennis typed, or very dang close. The person also pretended that the call was a cal-back that I had initiated. Their guess (they are playing the odds on what is "normal" in America right now, and, sadly, they are probably correct) is that I was in debt with lots of credit card debt and that they have "found" a program to help me get my interest rates down to 1.5% and cut my payments in half. What they don't know is that with the exception of my mortgage (already VERY good interest rate), I don't have any other outstanding debts. They played Russian roulette by dialing my number and got the bullet (metaphorically speaking, of course ...bullet = I ***g up).
"Sorry it took so long to get back to you about the new credit card program .. you know, the one which will lower your rates .... " [at this point I put the phone down and let him talk, which continued for at least a minute or two.]
lower your credit card interest rates
Dead air
Called my 13 yr olds cell phone. ***g up when I got ahold of a live person and asked them to remove the number. The number they call from is just a dial out number and will not allow you to call back.
