Leave a CommentTrafford continues to call and call despite my being on the Do Not Call list AND telling them four or five times not to call me a***n.I've filed complaint after complaint, and now I am contacting an Attorney to sue them. Please do the same if you keep getting calls from them.
I have received two calls (back to back, within minutes of each other) from this 812-672-9754 phone number. No message left. My phone's Caller ID shows AUTHORSOLUTIONS. Then one minute later, I received an email from Gabb Mendoza at the following email address: [email protected]. The iUniverse website is www.iuniverse.com. . I had contacted iUniverse only ONE time in April 2010 to get information only on self-publishing. I got the information at that time (April 2010) and never contacted them a***n for anything. Since then, I have received ***dreds of emails and phone calls from iUniverse. Today's call was the first time, I received a call from this number listed, which stated the caller ID as AUTHORSOLUTIONS, but I'm sure they are contacting me due to my iUniverse request one year ago. I will report them, since I haven't done any business or had any contact with their businesses since my initial request one year ago. Here's more info on this iUniverse guy if anyone needs it to get these phone calls from this number to stop:Gabb MendozaPublishing Consultant1663 Liberty DriveBloomington IN 47403P: 877.820.5395 ext 8134E: [email protected]
If it's a telemarketer or a company that isn't exactly reputable, they might not always honour your request to be removed. Even some companies don't honour it, period, saying they will and they never do.
Companies can get fined $11,000 per incident if you report them. However, if you have had business with them within 180 days they can still contact you. Example: You have Verizon cell service and switch to ATT. Verizon can contact you for 180 days from the last bill you paid (last time you had business with them).Once you say "Do not call" they legally have 30 days to remove you. So if you're on a list and they call you today and you say "do not call" and they call you tomorrow, it's possible they didn't get your number out of the system in time. It happens and they won't get fined or in trouble by the Feds.I'm not 100% sure on the 180 days thing but definitely report a company if they keep harrassing you beyond that 30 days. One of the things I first learned at that call center was major companies do get hit with millions in fines fairly frequently.
Never leaves a message. A real nuisance.
I didn't subscirbe to anything. I told them nicely that I wasn't interested the first time, over a year ago. A***n, nicely the second time. The third or fourth I s****ed answering, "What do you want? I'm taking a ****!" This morning I just rubbed the phone on my crotch when they called (fifteenth call by the way). When are you cold call people going to realize, people are mad when you call for a reason. If they wanted what you're selling, they would call you. If what you are selling was any good, you wouldn't have to call someone once a month for a year. Any decent business wouldn't share someone's phone number with half a dozen other companies either. For anyone actually interested in self-publishing, Create****e is the way to go. You get the same things you get from the bozos (printed book, ISBN, copyright, book listed on Amazon and Barnes and ***le), but they NEVER call you. They only send you an email when you complete a transaction like ordering a proof copy. The best part is you don't have to give them money so that they will print your book. The only time you give them money is when you buy copies. With other self-publishers, you're out over $1000 before you ever see a copy of your book. If you spend $1000 at Create****e, you get $1000 worth of books. I have a project with them that I never completed/published. If I was still interested in self-publishing, that is the route I would take.
The national pandemic of telephone terrorism perpetrated by desperate criminal collection agencies is because they are trying to terrorize people who are naive enough to answer and submit to unsolicited telephone calls or written "collection" letters that have no legitimate legal debt****ociated with them or any of the companies, universities, or whomever else they claim to represent. Because most "little guys" were bankrupted by the criminal Wall St/Congress/Big Oil/Big Bankers/Big Business/Military/Robber Barons, so the desperate collection agencies are attempting to collect unpaid debts from innocent people by terrorizing them into submission.Word of advice. NEVER answer any calls you don't recognize or are not expecting. Use selective call rejection service if available, or switch to an Internet-based telephone service which provides comprehensive call rejection options. If rogue calls become chronic, turn off all the ringers on all of your phones except one, and set its volume to the minimum setting. If you don't answer the call and the caller is legitimate, they will usually leave a voicemail after the first or second try. Rogue callers never leave voicemail messages because that could be used as evidence a***nst them if it came to a lawsuit. If you receive a rogue letter in the mail warning you of some "collection" action a***nst you, if you don't actually owe it, reply with a short letter stating that you don't owe it. Or if you do owe all or part of it, reply with so****ing like "You claim I owe you a debt. Under §809 FDCPA, I request validation of this debt."Only give them your name as THEY have written it to you (e.g. “John Doe” not “Jonathon Q. Doe” or however you normally sign your own name), address, and the account number they report. But if you do not owe the debt (zombie debt, aged debt, mistaken or stolen iden***y, forgery, etc.) state that you have never done any business with them or with the (alleged) original creditor of any kind and you expect the collection agency to close the matter, stop harassing you and take any bad credit marks they've caused off of your credit rating, and furthermore, that any further contact from them must be in writing on their official business correspondence letterhead. Send your letter to them a.s.a.p., always within thirty days, first class certified mail return receipt requested. If they refuse it and you get the letter back unopened, leave it unopened and save it in your files as evidence a***nst them should they pursue legal action a***nst you. If they did receive it and continue to pursue action a***nst you, let them. The judge will throw it out of court. If the rogue collection agency sells your account to another rogue collection agency just tell them the claim has been proven invalid and offer to send them a copy of your letter to the previous rogue collection agency. Warn all your friends about this rash of desperate collection agency terrorism, and how to combat it. Knowledge is power. The more you learn how to combat rogue collection agencies, back-taxes scammers, phishing scammers, and other flimflammers, the more you will learn how easy it is to do.Above all, keep a record of everything, of every rogue call w/ caller ID information displayed including time and day of each call. Maintain a complete file on any snail-mailed intimidation from rogue collection agencies, including copies of all correspondences and postal receipts. Reporting rogue calls on sites like800notes.com, whocallsme.com, phoneowner.info is a great idea too, because many people find these sites by googling for the rogue number(s) after receiving calls from them.--S**** Here:http://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=%C2%A7809+FDCPAhttp://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=zombie-debthttp://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=slander-of-credithttp://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=limited ... llection-agencyhttp://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs27-debtcoll.htmhttp://www.ehow.com/way_5849463_do-up-certified-dispute-letter.htmlhttp://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Defeat-a-Collection-Agencyhttp://hubpages.com/hub/Battling-Consumer-Debt-Collectors-Part-2-I-Do-Not-Owe-This-Debthttp://hubpages.com/hub/Sample-letters-for-disputes-to-creditors--collectors-and-credit-bureaushttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FDCPAhttp://www.fair-debt-collection.com/Disputing ... ute-letter.html (most say the above sample letter is too long and should be much shorter)http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/statue-limitations.htmlCredit Report:https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jspUSPS:http://www.usps.com/send/waystosendmail/extra ... mailservice.htmhttp://www.usps.com/send/waystosendmail/extra ... eiptservice.htmOther links:http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/personal/02/29 ... tors/index.htmlhttp://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Defeat-a-Collection-Agencyhttp://clarkhoward.com/shownotes/category/12/103/358/http://clarkhoward.com/topics/drop_dead_letter.html--Information for filing complaints a***nst rogue telephone calls, telephone harassment, false "bill collector" harassment, etc.,in the United States and Ca***a:UNITED STATESUS National Do Not Call Registry, file complaint: https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspxFederal Trade Commissionhttp://www.ftc.gov 1-877-382-4357File complaint online: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.govhttps://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=enthat is at www.ftc.govFederal Communications CommissionTelephone toll free: 1-888-225-5322http://www.fcc.gov/contacts.htmlFile complaint online: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumers.htmlhttp://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htmFCC Abandoned Calls Complaint form:http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/1088D-R.pdfemail: [email protected] Business Bureau, Check out a Business, find owner, contact info; file a Complaint:http://www.bbb.org/us/INTERNET CRIME:File report for Internet Crime at:Internet Crime Complaint Centrehttp://www.ic3.gov/default.aspxCA***ARCMP Phone bustersTelephone toll free: 1-888-495-8501Mon-Fri 8:30-5:20 pm (Eastern Time)E-mail: [email protected] Website is at: http://www.phonebusters.com File complaint online: https://www.recol.ca/intro.aspx?lang=en(Register with a password and then can continually file complaints)Ca***a National Do Not Call Registry:Ca***ian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC)Telephone toll free to File A Complaint: 1-866-580-3625(to withdraw a complaint is 877-249-2782)CRTC online complaints form: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/pfplin-fccoin-engthat is at www.crtc.gc.caBetter Business Bureau, Check out a Business, find owner, contact info; file a Complaint:http://www.bbb.org/ca***a/
Sorry "Common Sense;" it's not that simple at all. I've been in sales for many years also. The DNC regulations are quite specific. One must request to be placed on the company's "Do Not Call" list. These are telemarketing companies. They don't care if they annoy you; their employees are paid to call - period, and they'll continue to do so as long as they are not violating the law in doing so. Often, even the laws don't stop them.
I hit the reply ****on to reply to reply to dognatas but this system shows my reply is to "common sense". Yet another faulty website. Why am I not surprised.
Your so-called "common" sense "logic" is faulty because you****ume they will stop with a simple courteous request. They don't. I had already emailed them and told them not to contact me but they continue to do so anyway. I used the form they ask you to fill out to stop emails and calls. I also told them I was no longer interested when I answered the phone from a previous call.Your at***ude explains a lot. Your "holier than thou" at***ude shows your personality perfectly - this is the reason most people hate cold calls and hate sales people like yourself. You're a creep, a low-life. Your "advice" is not only useless, it's insulting and serves no purpose but to allow you yet another platform to spew your sales style bull sh*t. Stick to sales, because advice and helping people is clearly not your forte.
My caller ID showed two numbers for the same phone call; 812-671-9754 and 610-915-5214. This is Xlibris - a self publishing book company. I made the mistake of filling out a form online to have more info sent to me after seeing an ad on facebook. I asked to be removed from their email mailing list as soon as I realized they were going to spam me, but too late, now they have my phone number. I will be publishing my book, but not with a company who does business this way. I don't believe the authorities will stop them because they haven't stopped anyone to date that I've reported. The best way to get satisfaction from ANY company is to hit them in their wallet. To do that you need to let them know four things. 1. Write to them and let them know you will not tolerate their spam (email or voicemail). 2. Tell them you will boycott any books they publish for anyone. 3. Tell them you will tell others to join the boycott, spreading the word on the net in places like facebook as well as here.4. Follow through with your threat. too bad your advice doesn't work.
I missed a call from them in mid-Aug and as I am cleaning up my call list (and adding new numbers in my contacts) I came across this one.I just now called the number and a ma****e answered that said, "Thank you for calling Office Solutions".
If you are no longer interested in a service that you had subscribed to receive information from just ask that they remove you from the list. It is not only the logical thing to do, it is courteous. I am in sales and it absolutely amazes me how cowardly people are when it comes to doing the following: "Hello. Oh, ABC Company I appreciate you calling, but unfortunately I'm no longer interested in this service. Please remove me from your list. Thanks." It's very simple, remove your tail from between your legs and be an adult.
I believe those calls are from Trafford publishing...and that you probably initially were interested in having so****ing published???? They call me a couple times a week and it's annoying.
