Leave a CommentYou may be surprised to know that these calls are criminal offences !! They are breaches of the Telecommunication Act 1984 (as amended) & the Harassment Act 2000 (as amended) Here is the relevant section ot the TA 1984 (AA)(cf. Sec. 43. Improper use of public telecommunications system. (1) A person who – (b) sends by those means, for the purpose of causing …needless anxiety to another… persistently makes use for that purpose of a public telecommunication system, shall be guilty of an offence…)The general public is ignorant of this law, Send them a recorded letter stating you do not want them to call and they are legally obliged to remove your telephone number . Invite them to write but but not call Here is the basis of a letter you can plagiarise – Telecommunication act 1984 (as amended)Any person(s) calling or trying to contact ************x via the telephone either into his private residence, office or mobile telephone for the purposes of “collecting” monies or investigating his private finances or for any purposes will and have been in de facto breach of the Telecommunication act 1984 (as amended) Section 43. 1 (b), and are committing a prima facie criminal offence attracting a £5000 fine or 6 months imprisonment, on the grounds that it is unnecessary, causes anxiety and is a pointless waste of time. After this notification any further calls (including his place of work) WILL be reported to the police with an insistence via the duty inspector of the reporting police station that a crime report is initiated a***nst that company and subsequently the individual making the call.( you will need a list of times and tel.nos -with mobiles this is easy ) Sadly the police will tell you this is a civil matter -its not - stand your ground and insist a crime report is initiated - take this print out with youThe purpose of this notification is not only to stop further calls to ************ but also to draw the attention to the ins***utions who persistently use this ****od to “bully” people into making payments and hence cause unnecessary anxiety, that they are committing a prima facie criminal offence. This offence is both de facto and prima facie by the Acts wording (cf. Sec. 43. Improper use of public telecommunications system. (1) A person who – (b) sends by those means, for the purpose of causing …needless anxiety to another… persistently makes use for that purpose of a public telecommunication system, shall be guilty of an offence…)The general public is ignorant of this law, and how to pursue it.****************, his family and commercial colleagues are not!>>>>>>>>>>You can always c****e you telephone number !Good luck

I received several calls from this number and it is a lady who I cannot understand. She tells me that if I do no call back or get an attorney I may get a warrant issued for my arrest. This is not capital one. They called me from a different number last week and trying to collect money for sonic cash. I have no loan with this company. She connected me to a different person and he told me he was collecting for someone else. When I asked about what the lady said about it being sonic cash, he didn't know what to say.I argued with them and then they ***g up last week. The last number was from California, Now it looks local. Interesting??? I smell a scam here. They only call on the weekends and at the same time as well. HMMM.
This is capital one..I looked at the wrong number when i posted this. Sorry. The other call is a call form california.
