Leave a CommentI also got a call on my work cell from this number (3/3/2010 @ 11:46am, 11:52am Pacific Time)...since i didn't recognize the number i let it go to voicemail (only the 11:52am call left a voicemail). The message didn't catch the beginning so i don't know what bank card is supposedly disabled but the rest is spot on to what the others above are saying. I was immediately su****ious as I never use my work cell phone as a contact number for my personal credit or banking needs.
This number called my cellphone today 3/3/10 at 12:28 12:33 12:38 and 12:44 I'm at work so I didn't pick it up and they haven't left a message.
got a call from this number on my cell phone on 2/27/10 saying my credit card was temporarily suspended and to press one for more options. I definitely knew it was a scam when they wanted me to enter my credit card number into the keypad- funny thing is, I didn't hear them mention a bank they were affiliated with, which only added to my skepticism.
Caller ID is Walter Horner. They left the recorded message "This is a message from Jefferson Financial Credit Union, Your card has been suspended because we believe it has been accessed by a third party, please press 1 now to be transfered to our security department" I don't have any business with Jefferson Financial Credit Union.
Both my husband and I received multiple calls from this number on our cell phones! They say basically the same thing as Mr. Horner comment above, that our VISA card has been suspended due to possible fraud. Neither of us pressed one and just ***g up. Now today I get the text message saying the same things. Only difference here is that we live in LOUISI**** So I guess these scammers are calling all over the U.S. BEWARE-BE CAREFUL!
Received a call today. The recording said that my visa bank card has been temporarily de-activated. I needed to press one to continue. I ***g up, looked up the phone number and found this site. The call was to my cell and said it was from Texas.
This is the second time this number has called my cell phone. A recording told me that my debit card had been deactivated and that I should dial this number and provide my banking information. I wish I could remember what internet site I place my cell phone number on so I can trace it back. I believe this is a scam to obtain your banking information. I'm thinking about reporting this to the police if the callers continue to harass me. Does anyone know what web site they placed thier contact information that might give us info. about these scammers? If so please post the info. on this web site. Thanks
This number 817 385-1065 called my cell this evening. Didn't hear it ring, they left no message so I called it back a couple hours later. Got a recording saying the number did not go through. It didn't give a name on my cell - just said Arlingto, Texas.
**** - I pressed 1, and dead air... now what?
SOB's called me claiming I was with Vantage Bank.... **** I dont even know what bank that is LOL
Received call on cell. Same as everyone else. Sept 10, 2009
Received call on cell from Vantage that card suspended...scam...**** up and don't press 1...
Received a call on my cell stating that it was from Vantage and that my credit card had been suspended temporarily, and to press one. Do not have a card with Vantage, figured it was a phishing operation.
yeah they just called me as well. I pressed 1 and then realized that they would be asking for info and if it really was the credit card co. they wouldn't be asking for my info just my security stuff.
Received call at 5:20 from 817-385-1065 on my cell phone but I missed the call. Didn't leave a voice mail and I normally don't call numbers back .. I search the number online. I'm happy I didn't answer the phone! I don't think I would have fallen for this anyway...I am a little ticked that they called my CELL PHONE and not my home line. Wonder how they got my number?
Just called me too, had a sneaky su****ion because I had never heard of the area code. Glad I didn't answer it and looked it up online.
Received a call this morning 9/9/09 at 2:33 a.m. Didn't get out of bed to answer it. They did not leave a message on the ma****e. I tried calling it today - just to find out why someone named Walter Horner was calling me at 2:33 a.m., but just got the fast buzy signal.
Call came in yes****ay and said that my card was suspended. The call came from Bank of America. I do not bank with this bank. Glad to see everyone posted this number. Thanks
We received a call from 817 385 1065 on our cell stating that our vantage credit debit card had been comprimized and to press 1 to be connected to the fraud department, we ***g up and immediately looked online for the number. good thing we did'nt press 1
Got this call on 2 different lines in my house. The caller ID says Walter Horner, but it was a bank in Hawaii saying my card was accessed by a third party and press 1 to talk to fraud dept. Out of curiosity I did and it was automated press 1 to reinstate card or 2 to end call. I live in California and never even been to Hawaii, on top of that I filed bankruptcy last year and don't have ANY credit cards.
THIS CALL CAME IN ON MY CELL PHONE. I DIDN'T ANSWER BUT CALLED THE NUMBER BACK FROM WORK AND IT NEVER RANG, ALL I GOT WAS DEAD AIR. SEPT 1, 2009 1:44PM.
This number called me on 9/1/2009 at 9:34am. Phone call was a recording saying, "You Southern Lakes Credit Union card has been suspended because we believe it was accessed by a third party" leaving instructions to press 1 to talk to a representative. Southern Lakes Credit Union is located here in SE WI, but we have never had an account or card with them. Because of this, I immediately realized this was a scam. I called Southern Lakes Credit Union myself, and they confirmed that this is a scam. The people at Southern Lakes are keeping a record of reports from people who have received this fraudulent phone call. If you receive a call like this, call Southern Lakes directly yourself and report it to them.
Received call stating our Shared Resources credit card had been compromised. Pretty amazing since we don't have a shared resources account.
Same info as Cap and within a few minutes of that as well.ID said Walter Horner. T'was a recording claiming to be Mountain First suspending our card. We've no such account with them, but they are in our area. I ***g up but was pleased to see that the number had been grabbed.
Received call 2 time on 8/28/2009. Pre-recorded message stating that "your card has been suspended" Please press 1 to be transferred to our security department. The recording said it was from Mount First Bank and Trust.I have never delt with this bank. Caller ID was "Walter Horner".
817-385-1065 called me at 3pm 27 August, 2009. It was a pre-recorded message claiming to be a bank in Texas telling me they had to lock down my debit card and in order to reinstate I had to divulge personal information. Well I have never banked in Texas, my bank is located in ******ia...I hate these ****ed phisher scammers...
