Also, I wanted to mention that if you called that number back past 5 p.m. central time, chances are you will not get an answer since that number rings the front receptionist's desk and she is not there after that time.  Hope this clears some things up for you guys.  Internet customer support, however, is there all hours of the night.

This is the phone number (they have several, but the main line is 817-424-2000) for Gamestop's corporate headquarters in G****vine, Texas.  If you have received a call from them, they are either confirming an online order or for some reason, they have wrong phone information for someone who has made a sizable online/phone/pre-order.

Gamestop, I did an online purchase and prior to shipping they wanted to verify it was me. Nice touch! Probably not the best ****od to detect fraud, but they at least have a number they know reached the fraudster!

I just got the call & it was a Gamestop rep. I had made a large online purchase lastnight so I guess it's not a scam?

Credit thieves dont answer

Got a call to confirm my order through Gamestop. I opted for the overnight shipping ****od and it was a relatively big order. So, I can understand why they would want to confirm.

I've been broke for a year so I didn't order anything and the number keeps popping up on my cell phone. Gotta be a scam.

Huh, they called me but I didn't hear anything. I said "hello" a bunch of times and ***g up. Then they called back immediately, and I still heard nothing. Thanks for the info though Kim!

Hi. I JUST has this happen to me. Gamestop said they have to do this because of the heightened chances of Credit Card fraud. If you do confirm the order, they will ship it out.

I received a call from a represen***ive claiming to be from Gamestop.  Requested my billing address as confirmation for a PS3 order earlier in the week before fulfilling / shipping the order.  Has this happened to anyone else?
