Leave a CommentI just got my amazon statement today and was charged 24.50 from royal toothbrushes on 2/14. i did not recognize the charge so i called the number. it rang a few times and then just disconnected. so i googled the number and found several forums where people commented this was a scam. i called amazon and cancelled my card number and they are going to send me a form to fill out for fraudulent claims. i wonder if there is a common factor to these charges. how could all of these people get charged? did we buy on a site that wasnt secure? did someone sell a list of names and card numbers? i have a visa and i saw a master card was charged so this is really weird. there has to be some type of trail, or a way to find the person that is pocketing all of this money. good luck to all who have been charged.
I am out 24.50
No call but $28.00 charge to my credit card. Royal Toothbrushes scam.
My husband just called to tell me that this Royal Toothbrush scam got to us also. No clue how they got our card number. We also had a charge for a Red Light District ****. site and the person who charged was named Donald, so be careful of this site, it shows up as RDL on your statement.
I called paypal. They said they just prossessed the card. It was billed to my other card through paypay. I don't understand that.Ill keep on top of itg and let younow whhat happends. Thanks
I hope everyone is filing a complaint with at least the attorney general of Texas?I don't think they can randomly pick numbers without some other verification, ie: the 3 digit code on the back of the card, your address or??I never did sports or casinos online, I have learned that a lot of medical claims are processed overseas? Also, this morning on the today show they were talking about downloading music can leave your card more susceptible to foul play. My card was run through without the code on the back, my bank wants to know how they did that, and I would like to know too!The person with the paypal scam, won't paypal do anything to help?
feb. 23,2009. just received our banking account statement, found a charge on our debit card for $24.50 paid to Royal Toothbrushes, tx. 817-522-3921. called the phone number, call would not go through, recording **** up and check the number. called the bank, were told they are investigating, filed a complaint with texas attorney general. these people should be known as the royal scam artist. everyone check you statement, please. hope they are caught and ***g, the sorry s*** bags.
The same thing just happened to me as I was checking my account online, there was a $24.50 charge for Royal Toothbrushes. No phone call, but I am disputing the charge, cancelling my card, and getting a new card.Everyone please check your bank statements carefully!
Filed a complant with the FTC!
Royal toothbrushes $28.00No Idea what the***** this is .Called card company NOW.also got burned on a paypal statement from HAYES STORE $295.00Also a nother scam!BE CAREFULL!!!
No call, just a charge on my debit card for $24.50. Filing fraud claim with my bank. Looked this company up at whois.com and found another number (8172983760, disconnected) and another email address, dave.ford37***ahoo.com.Also filed a complaint with Internet Crime Complaint Center: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
I also received a bogus charge on my credit card in mid December. I guess a lot of people may not look to close with all the Christmas shopping? Maybe that's what they're hoping?Anyway, I would suggest anyone scammed by them to complain to the Texas Attorney General https://www.oag.state.tx.us/forms/cpd/form.phpand the FTC https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Neither will represent individuals, but hopefully they will get enough complaints and stop this! Also, be sure to have your credit card or phone bill charges reversed. Your card may be canceled and a new one issued.P.S. My computer is pretty secure with three programs running continually. (adware, spyware and antivirus) My bank wants to know how they did this. Obtained my information. I have the impression it wasn't the typical verification for the transaction?
I Got a charge on my credit card from this bull s**t company also for 28$***?
Didn't get a call, but I am adding myself to the growing list of people hit by this scam. The amount I was taken for was around $23-24 (I am at work and don't have the statement in front of me...) The charge hit my Master Card (credit account, not bank) as of 1/10, but was not aware of it untill the 13th.Called my cc company and openly disputed charge and they offered to cancel my card, send a new one, as well as to send me the papers necessary to file a formal dispute. Have not currently received anything yet, but I am sure it is on the way...I went to royaltoothbrushes.com/support.php and noticed that both the phone number and the fax number they show is the same, and it's the phony number shown above. Not that it really matters, but just thought I'd point that out...just in case anyone hasn't seen that yet.I have only one idea that has not yet been mentioned above. I either have the card on me or locked in my safe at home, and have only used it once online to make a purchase (through a secure site).Anyway, moving on...if my computer is infected with a virus that allowed this company to acuire my cc number, then that would be my best guess as to how this happened, especially since I have consistently been in sole possession of my card since I received it in the mail.As most banking and such is now done online, it is entirely possible that all (if not all, then some or most) of us affected by this scam also have security issues on our computers. I used to work for Dell, so I know how often people skimp on getting security for their system... Like I said, it is a long****, but one that makes sense when you think about it.Hope everything works out for everyone...please continue to post issues and ideas about what could cause this...every little bit helps...
I did not get a call but was charged $24.50 on my debit. Googled "Royal Toothbrushes" & got this website. :( Calling the bank now.
found a charge on my credit card on dec 18th in the amount of $24.50 for royal toothbrushes in arlington texas, called the number listed of 817-522-3921 and it was not a working number, the transaction is not mine and i am disputing the charge
the same ****!...they got 23.50 from us, and the phone seems to be from texas!...what should we do?
Did not receive a call just a deduction in my account. Which I intend on having my bank recredit after the holiday. In my statement it has the phone number which when called is not in service, go figure. Would really like to know how they accessed my information.
We did not receive a call, but was charged $22.50 on October 9, 2008. We canceled the credit card this morning. When we called this number (817) 522-3921 it sounded as though it may have been a personal number -- not a business and they never said anything about "Royal Toothbrushes."
