Leave a CommentMy nephew had this same scam called on him. I had him go to the bank to get iden***y theft protection. Who knew Wachovia could care less. I had him immediately call LifeLock and get registered with them. This is why Americans are beginning to resent all Middle Easterners. This is a scam and if anyone is too ****** to research this prior to sending money, then they deserve what they get. If a "collection" agency refuses to provide their company name, address, phone number, and business license number, then they are not a legitimate business.
I received a call from them on Thursday advising that I will face serious consequences if I didnt return their call. So I called them and they said that I owe a payday loan and said they are suing me if I dont pay by Friday i will owe them $6000 but if I make some type of payment they will work with me and my balance is $900. I asked them for the original company because I never took out from a First Cash International. I requested that they send me a letter, their address and they said they cannot provide that information or mail me a letter. this guy Matthew said they are located in a busy mall and cannot provide this information of their location. Matthew also said if I got a case number on my voicemail? I said no and I asked for that case #. Matthew said he didnt have my case # and has to create one and will get a subpoena by the California Courts. I hope they catch these people.
They called also. I called them back three times. Each time they gave me a different name: Federal Credit Law Firm, Federal Counsel of the US Government Law Firm and First Cash International. So, I called the Federal Trade Commission : 877-566-7226. They gave me a case number and the number to my local consumer protection office. They also emailed me the law for third party collections. Extremely useful information.
I got the same call today threatening that if I do not send the a notorized fax with my credit card info that the $900 balnce will be $5000-$6000 once it hit the court on Monday. They said to write this in the fax:I am making a payment today on 12/17/2009 of $500 and will make the rest of the payment on Dec 31st (they aid my next py day. Please accept payments. This is my last time, and I will never miss another payment a***n.and to put my credit card info on it.C'mon now!!!
I had the same call today threatening me with a law suit. I told them that I had paid them back and I would call the company directly and they ***g up on me. When I got home there was a message from them so a***n I called them (now they have me worried) So I contacted my bank to make sure of all payments and sure enough the two were paid back. So I called back and advised they should remove my phone # or I WOULD GET A LAWYER TO SUE THEM FOR HARRASMENT. And a***n they ***g up on me. WHAT A BUNCH OF LOW LIFE PEOPLE TRYING TO STEAL FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME FINANCIALLY.
Karen, Why did you pay them? These people are scammers! Do NOT give them your money! These people are not licensed, they are not a collection agency and they do not work for the US government. This scame is very popular with people who take out payday loans. It's the same scenario : they call and say they will file a lawsuit or take you to joil unless you pay them a fee, they threaten you and harass you and they have middle eastern accents and american names (like John Smith) alarm bells should be going off in your head right by then. Close your bank account and open a new one, i repeat, do not give them any money. File a police report, report this to the FBI and I would get a lawyer to see about the monies you already paid but I highly doubt you would get it back since these people would dissapear off the map. Try asking the questions and try and get an address, you'll see how they stutter. It's sad that our government can;t do anything to stop these people. The only reason they are calling you and asking for more money is because you've already sent them money so they will continue to try to milk you. My advice is for you to ignore the calls, report them. Do***ent them and save any voicemails and time and date that they call. It is ILLEGAL for them to demand money if they won't even specify what payday loan it's for! it is not real! you have a right to know your debt. and secondly, if a law suit is every field a***nst you in this case, it is a civil matter, not criminal
They keep calling me at my work number this afternoon - 5 different times with different phone numbers - I keep ****ing up on them not answering the phone - and they keep calling - whish they would stop - I reg=cognize the voice of the man that called me in November - same thing I never paid back my paday loan - but he couldn't tell me which payday loan company - of course I paid them - now I knwo not what to do - thanks for this messge board. I called my phone company and had my home phone number c****ed. and trying to get my work number c****ed which is a lot of red tape.
I just got the same call this is the third call I got in three months about s suit filed a***nst me - ****** me I paid them twice - I know I paid all of my payday loans -off I already paid these scammers twice once for 800 so****ing and a***n last month for 900 so****ing - I'm not calling them back and they threaten over the fphone - last sentence was may God save your life. I am pretty sure ists the same group that has called before and I have paid them over 1700. and they do not tell you what payday loan its for. and thhe said it ws a department of Federal government - what fed government agency hires foreigners to threaten people on the phone

I just wanted to correct that I put that it was a political organization. I didn't realize I scrolled ****her down before sumbiting. It was in fact a collection agency of some sort.He also said his name was Jeff Palin, at least that is what I understood from his accent.
This happened to me too. I am using a payday lender right now but I pay them back every payday. I googled federal council of us government and got nothing. I did the reverse phone number look up on whitepages.com and they are located in Burbank, CA. But no name or address was given. I just happened to think about typing the number on google search and I found this page. You all don't know how relieved I am to have found this. I never answered the call because is said private on my phone. But I got a voice mail from them yes****ay and they called three times in a row today. I thought it to be very su****ious that the caller was foreign calling from u.s. government. It's funny how all these calls have taken place this month. I think someone is out there trying to get some extra Christmas money. It is a complete shame that people would so such a thing. I hope someone catches them and puts a stop to it.
i got a call from unknown no ....... he was threatning me for last 3 days ,his name s daniel , he could nt s***k eng well whn i was askng sme info he couldnt able to answer my questions ... he s surely a foreigner, having a indian accent ......... those people are relly scam ... i gave a complaint to fbi ...next tym if he call me he will surely get caught..
This caller could not speak english well. With threatening about by social security number how did they get this info and are they that desperate for a job. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got 3 calls from them, too. They don't know how to operate a phone via voice mail. If the Federal Government hired incoherent buffoons, then I'd completely lose all faith.

I just received this call today at work. They too claimed to be with the law firm contracted by the US Government! I received the names Mark Smith and Daniel Lewis (what are the most common names in the US for a $100, Alex?)They said that a lawsuit was filed a***nst me by First Cash International and that they could not supply me with any information as it would be a "conflict of interest". They provided me a call back number and they expect payment on this erroneous loan ASAP. LOL.
I'm getting these messages as well. I never answer them cause the number is unknown, but my iPhone broke, so no more digital voicemail, so now I'm listening to these messages. Calling from the federal government, Indian accent, there has been a suit filed a***nst "me and my co-conspirators." This last message has gone so far as to tell me if I don't call back that my life will be ruined. You can bet I'm going to take it when they call a***n and I'm going to f*** with this guy. Guaranteed!
That just happened to me. They had my email, my address, my social. They said that I need to get a lawyer because I am being sued by a payday lender because I haven't paid. They even mentioned one I do use and I know I pay them regularly. How scary this is happening.
They called me too and tried to get me to send them money by threatening me. My concern is that they knew my social security number and where I bank at. I also called the AG and was told that there was nothing they could do. It seems to me that if I have a phone number where I can call them back, that the AG could investigate and find out who pays for that phone number and do so****ing about this! WTH??
These middle eastern fools call, identifying themselves as attorney's of the Federal Dept. of the US Govt. (That is ridiculously exactly what they say). When asked what department they get f****ered, or they come up with a new agency name! Basically they are running a scam calling people and telling them that they took out a loan from one of these cash advance places and never repaid the loan. It is just a scam. It has gotten to the point that I call them four times a day from different numbers just to ask them all kinds of ****** questions! You should hear them stammer:)...I have asked for help from the AG but to no avail. O'well, guess I will just have to keep calling them day and night until they recognize my voice and finally give up!
