Leave a CommentThe Company is Persolve LLC in Chatsworth, CA. They also go by AR&Associates. They are junk debt buyer that commonly misrepresent debts or try to accuse someone of owning a debt which is not theirs. Often times the debt in question is higher then what it was originally. They will also claim they are en***led to any interest and fees per annum. They will say they have a case a***nst that will filed unless you pay them a very high monthly payments or some absurb settlement of 75% the sum total. Their main goal is to either get you to fold or win default judgements. They can not and will not validate the debt, since they have nothing on you. If you disagree to paying them, they will file a lawsuit. Asking for a lesser amount then on the phone plus interest and attorney fees. If you read the complaint carefully, it is obvious it is a copy paste job as they file in mass numbers each year. You will also notice a few lies in the complaint as well. Even if you had given the correct address in which you live, they will usually drop it off somewhere else that is more convenient to them and file in a court that is outside your district. They will file in a civil court, which is more formal then small claims in hopes you will not know how to fight back. If they do file a lawsuit a***nst you, I suggest you answer immediately on the grounds that the debt is time-barred, that they refused to validate the debt, and that their is no contract that states that you are obligated to pay them interest and fees. This is a very serious matter, if you let them win a default or you pay them off, you could be paying more then you really owe to a hoodlum. Also even if you have no money now, a judgement is good for 10 years and can be renewed, so if you come into money later, they will take it. You could try reporting them to the BBB, but I believe the BBB to be a joke. Report them to the FTC.
Do not****ume that just because you do owe a debt, that the amount they tell you is correct. They told me an absurb amount was owed at date I was unable to make anymore payments. Lucky for me I kept my bills for when my financial situation gets better. And what would you know? The amount is alot less then what they were demanding from me!

Anybody can pretty much file for a lawsuit, so it is up to you to bring up the SOL defense. But yes it is way past the SOL in California, which is 4 years. If they do file a lawsuit, make sure you respond in in your answer that the debt exceeds the Statutes of Limitations. Before you let it get to that point though, Make sure to send a Debt Validation letter, return receipt requested and a Cease and Desist Letter. Keep copies. Telling them over the phone dosn't really do much. Do not give them any personal information like your bank account number. If they were a legitimate bank collector they should be able to validate the debt and work out a payment plan that best fits your budget. But obviously this is just another bad junk debt buyer, forcing people to pay more then they really own. As for the credit, it is reported for 7 years after it was first written off. So no, Persolve llc has no legal right to report another 7 years to the debt if they do not own it and you have not agreed to pay anything to Persolve. Get your free copy of your credit report and make sure they did not report it to your credit report. That is illegal and you can sue them. REPORT THEM TO THE BBB, FTC, and ATTORNEY GENERAL!
Also what I forgot to mention is that the SOL and the length the debt stays on your credit are too different things. Yes, the debt is reported on your credit for 7 years. The SOL is the length of time that a creditor has to sue you, you need to check with the states laws for the number of years. If lets say Persolve sues you and they win or you dont show and they win a default, that judgement is good for 10 years. If the SOL has run, they can't legally sue you but they will certainly try. It is up to you to bring up the SOL defense in your answer to the summons, the judge won't do it for you. If the SOL has run, the judge will automatically throw the case out. Also, as I have mentioned them dropping the summons off at the wrong address. If they do sue you and you don't know about it until you receive the letter saying you got a judgement a***nst you, you have a length of time for you to contest that judgment if you never knew you were being sued in the first place.Hope that helps!
Do you live in California? If so tell them the SOL has run on this debt and to not contact you a***n. You should also go about sending a Validation Letter and a Cease and Desist Letter to their company. You may owe a debt to the original creditor, but Persolve will tell you the wrong amount and date of the debt. They will also add interest to the debt. I am not a lawyer, but I suggest if you can get a free or lowcost attorney to help you, then you should. They dropped off a summons for me Friday at a place I never worked, luckly the manager knows me and called me where I do work to let me know. The summons is giving me 30 days to file an answer or it will win them a default. The location they filed is way outside my district and I have no idea why they filed there when they have my home address. They are very hard to work with, I had asked them very nicely to send me proof of the debt and then maybe I can send them payments of less then 50 a month since that is all I can afford. They demanded I settle for a extreme amount of money or send 200 a month or they will file a cause of action. I told the woman I can't afford 200 a month and she demanded I get friends or family to help me. I told her no and I guess they have to send me to court. She got really angry and ***g up on me. So now they are sueing me, but I am not letting them win a default judgement.I suggest you report them to the BBB, FTC and your state attorney general immediately. I have seen alot of complaints on this site about this company but there are only 5 complaints on the BBB website. This treatment should not be allowed. We are honest people trying to get by and we are not avoiding debts by any means, but we are not going to pay debts without proof that is the right amount by the original creditor. I am glad I am not the only one they have treated this way, but I am sorry you have to deal with this...We will get through it somehow
I recently received a letter from persolve, llc demanding I owe a bal of $3410.00 and that they are willing to take 65% of that. I dont even recall owing such a debt and they really couldnt validate the debt. I called the original creditor and referenced the given account #. They told me it had been sold in Mar 2005, and it had probably been with a few collection agency's before that. I did some research on this, and if I did my homework correctly, believe the statue of limitation has run out on this to be reported on my credit? can anyone help me out on this? When asked how long this would stay on my credit report, the persolve rep told me 10 years, and I found out that not to be true, only 7 years. What can possibly happen at this point? can this go on my credit like they threaten? can I be sued? response appreciated
Im am in the process of selling my home and during a ***le search, they found these people have put a lien on my home. I was never served with papers and have no idea what they are talking about. Now I cant sell my home unless I give them 3700 bucks. The went to court without my knowledge and got a judgment. They told my realtor they wont take a settlement amount or provide proof of the debt. Im not paying them nuthin, i will go file bankruptcy and keep my home and ***** them. they wont even get one red nickel. These ppl need to be put out of business along with all this mortgage motification scams and short sale. This is like freddy kruger rearing his **** head a***n after being dead for 120 years. These ppl are straight ****s. I guess i better call pookie and them
Horrible scavengers that purchase very old debts from creditors. Will refuse to work with you at all and will give you a "hardship application" which is mainly their way to see if you have any****ests or if you make enough that it is worth taking you to court. They will refuse to send you a validation of the debt (so basically you have no idea if that is the correct amount or if you even own this debt) and if you say you can't afford to pay what they are asking, they will get downright nasty. I suggest reporting them to the BBB and FTC for:1) Failure to provide validation 2) Saying they work for a law firm3) Harrasment4) The debt in question exceeds the statutes of limitationsThat you also put them on the Do Not Call Registry. If they call you, demand validation of the debt be mailed to your home. Do not be intimated by threats of legal action. If they do end up taking you to court. GO! They are hoping that you will ultimately not show up. This is what you don't want.

This must be a racket run by prisoners or con men. They call and harass you but they will not provide you with legal do***entation. They won't even tell you the company they are working for. Was it a JC Penney card? Was it a Big Lots? Who knows but I hope these big companies see what total ****bags these people are and get rid of them. Who is going to deal with some shmo who is yelling at you? Please. They say"ARA" like we know who the***** they are. OOOo probably next to a *****ge parlor where they do "special *****ge, yes?". Yuck, they oooze.
Donna, I was going through the same issue! I was told that I need an attorney to help me with this. Great, I'm in debt and the best advice I get is to be more in debt by consulting with an attorney! However, a close family friend referred to me a MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE solution! I was able to speak to a very reputable and highly rated law FIRM in my state! They even wrote a letter on my behalf to get these creditors to stop calling! All you have to do is pay a very low monthly membership fee and you'll have unlimted phone consultation on any subject matter plus a whole lot more! I know this may sound hoakie but it's totally legit - the service company is actually traded in the New York Stock Exc****e - PPD. Follow the link below for more info. Good luck!https://www.prepaidlegal.com/Multisite/Multisite?memapp=yes&site=info&assoc=christianrandrup
i have a few different conversations with Persolve llc or also goes by Account Resolution****ociates regarding a debt they purchased that is over ten years old . They are very difficult to work with asking me to pay in full many times the amount of the original loan . They have threatened to have my wages garnished . What can I do?
They called my neighbor three houses away and inconvenience them to give their number because they say that our voice mail is full. How embarrassing !!! how are these people. I called them up and got some kind of a collection agency. Is that legal that they call my neighbor and ask them to give their number to us? What the***** happened to privacy?
Persolve Collection Agency. Calling me about an account that is way over ten years old. A police report was filed in another state over 700 miles from me ten years ago for a credit card in my name and a fraud alert was placed on my bureau's. They purchased this very old account and are now telling me that unless I provide them with this police report from over 10 years ago, that it is a valid claim. They're f*cking crazy. This is NOT a valid claim and the CANNOT collect on it. Nor can they force me to travel back to Newport, KY for a copy of a report that probably no longer even exists in their arc***es. Furthermore, they have not only one account for this, but two, each listing different amounts for the same **** credit card,*****O?????!!!! Is anybody home? I'm surprised they can afford to pay their **** phone bill at this rate and I hope like***** no one else is buying into their bu***hit.
The number in question belongs to Persolve LLC, a particularly nasty and combative collections agency based in the San Fernando valley.I had to **** up on him; despite the fact that I contacted them myself in order to resolve my iden***y theft case, the man on the other end, Ed Gomez, kept on insisting that it was my debt. He was very abusive in his language, and it was clear that he was just trying to cow me into paying money I don't owe.My recommendation? Avoid these $#%*****s wherever possible.
Have been receiving calls for several days for a person called "Robbie Stoddard" -- no one lives in this house with this name -- but the caller keeps insisting that I am lying, and need to "get my names straight". Very irritating and the next time I get this call, I am going to pretend to be "Robbie" and see what happens.
Ur a** is getting sued. big time. danger Will Robinson
