This caller called for the first time today.

I also received a call from this number. I was left a long message on my cell informing me that I needed to return the call "the second I get this message." I couldn't make much else out, due to the noise and the heavy accent. I called the number and a female answered and I asked for the name of the business and she replied "This isn't a business it's a law firm." Her accent was very heavy also, and she transferred me to her "supervisor" who had to scream at me because there was so much noise in the background, and I had to keep yelling into the phone "What?" He said his name was Peter Smith (yeah right...) At any rate, he told me that the police were going to show up at my house and my job tomorrow to take me to the court house. He wouldn't tell me who this was on behalf of. I immediately called the payday loan****istance company that is****isting me with some payday loans, and he****ured me that no one was coming for me, and that it would cost them a lot more than the $200 I owe them to come for me, and that a judge would laugh them out of court. He also told me to get a fax and a phone no. from them, the name of their "law firm" and what account they represent. He said that basically, it was a scare tactic to get me to pay them, and because I didn't bite, he ***g up on me. A real professional wouldn't **** up on you, and they would also provide you with any and all information they had.  All I know is that the call came from Aptos, CA, but that's all I've been able to find out so far. I'll let you know from jail tomorrow...

Got a call on my phone asking for my husband.  Said they were with the Cyber Crime unit and that they had a report a***nst him.  When he took the call the strong middle eastern accented woman told him that she could not hear him.  It sounded like she was in a really busy call center.  So he said since he can hear me he ***g up.  A***n they called and I ***g up on the lady and then she called back and told do not **** up on me.  I asked if she was a detective she said yeah, I asked for badge number then she told me that this call was for my husband she would not give out info.  Well I live in a community property state so this also regards me and she was calling my phone.  I ***g up a***n and then a male called back.  When they call I get unavailable on my screen, but I asked for the number and this is the number she gave me.  This is a total scam and do not give out any information.

Now 831-607-4533 isn't a working number. Constant busy signal and I have tried to call them back all hours of the day and night.  I did contact a lawyer regarding the calls I received and have been instructed to try and get more information from the people making these calls.  Unable to get ahold of them now. If anyone can provide company names, addresses or phone numbers, could you please post details?  Thanks for your help with trying to stop these people.

i am geting the  same call they would not send me any paperwork either

I got a call from this number today on my cell phone and my work phone.  I have been receiving calls for the past couple weeks on my work phone and when I answer there is no one there.  I called it back because the woman with a thick Middle Eastern accent named Amy Gibson made threats about a law suit if I didn't call back and wished me luck with my case.  When I called the number back the first time it just said "law firm" how can I help you.  I ***g up.I called it back and same thing.  I told the man, also Middle Eastern thick accent that I received a threatening call about a law suit and had no information and no identification and they didn't answer with any ID.  He said "I answered Law Firm, didn't you understand that?"  he told me there was a lawsuit a***nst me for a $400 payday loan that they attempted to pull from my account one time and were given an NSF and now with fines I owed over $5000 and there would be two agents coming on monday to take me to court.  He refused to tell me where he was calling from or provide me with proof of this loan.  all he said was he had a recording of me stating that I did fill out an application and that they have been emailing me and I have not responded.What a crock of stuff!

This is another scam call...they sound like they are from the Middle EAst.  I called the Federal Trade Commission and filed a compliant and I placed a trace on the call (when I called them back) with my local police dept. I would advise any one else, receiving these types of calls, to do the same.***DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY OF YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION** They were trying to collect on some loan that wasn't even mine. I have sinced closed the checking account they mentioned and switched to a different bank. I also provided my new bank with a warning of these calls.  Additionly, I called all 3 major credit bureaus and requested an alert on my credit report.  Oh, and they used threats and foul language when I called them out on what they were doing.  I continued to be nice, which they didn't like so they ***g up on me. Just please be very guarded about confirming your info to anyone!
