Leave a CommentAgreed...Preferred Renewal Services called me twice this past week and could not even tell me which subscriptions they were calling about. Gave a bunch of generic magazine names that guys might have "Men's Health, ****m, ESPN Mag" and wanted my personal info so I would NOT get auto-renewed....I told them I never order anything "auto-renew" and they told me I was wrong, but of course, couldn't even tell me which magazines they were calling about. Scammers!
They call me several times a day they are scammer's they want my credit card info...to charge me for magazines I don't get..be careful never give out cc info over the phone
I answered and it is from United Readers Services. They were calling to tell me I was late 2 months on my payments then said they tried to charge my master card (my card is a visa I have no master card) but it would not go through. When I told the lady I never owned that card she said "okay lets go ahead and get your current card number to bring your account up to date." I then asked when my account with them had s****ed they said December of 2008 but I was laid off December of 2008 so I know I never would have signed up for more debt. When I said this she said "well sir we are a new company and took over for your other mag. company when I asked who that was she couldn't tell me. Unfortunately I did get all the mags she was talking about from a different mag company not United Readers Services. But I didn't think and gave more info before looking into it more! Now I'm stuck and I just realized I'm being SCAMMED!
W***ver it is, they have called me several times.
