Hi DebIt is not a scam,I received the same voicemail about checkfraud and when callin back they asked me to verify the last four of my social back in november and it was my social but i said it wasnt and I ***g up the phone. They never called back but recently I received a summons to appear. I can say its not a scam but I do need advice about how to approach the situation. HELP!

It's a scam...I got the call but did not call back.....he said I was being investigated for check fraud. I happen to know this is false since I just went through a vigorous back check for my job with the government. First, a special agent would not leave the last four of your SSN on a voice mail, second, they would not leave the nature of the call on the voice mail (My doctor and her nurses won't even do that), and last, there have been other types of calls that have gone around and when you call them back they want you to verify your personal information. that's how they get the stuff they need to steal your money and credit, you call and verify your information. You give it to them. If anyone ever wants you to verify info, have them tell you what they have and always deny it's your info and nothing else. Don't give them your information, no matter what they say. If they are calling you for legitimate reasons, they should have your correct information.
