These people call from a number of various telephone numbers. I am experiencing the same thing as Michelle below. The debt they are calling about was decreed to be my ex-husbands responsibility. Note that we divorced in 1991!

Yeah called wanting me to verify the last 4 numbers of my social security number! Scary thing was they had it right. They wouldn't tell me who they were or any info til I told them if the numbers were right. They say I owe a debt my ex was supposed to pay in the divorce 20 years ago. I told them they were past the statue of limitations on it and we weren't paying it. They said it was a tax liability not a debt and didn't have statue of limitations. It was a Montgomery Ward credit card. Give me a break, I don't think the IRS cares about my MW car.

These people are unreal. And not very good spammers. I never identified my self and they just s****ed into their speal... as if I was the person. Then when I told them I was not that person they said that I had not said that at the beginning. LOL what a joke.

Debt collector called saying I owe $6000 and they will report to the IRS. I have NO such debt, but they had my home address. I will put an alert on my social security # in case of spammers.
