They claim to be AT&T. I do not have at&t. I HAVE NO LONG DISTANCE COMPANY!IHAVE A LONG DISTANCE BLOCK ON MY PHONE. I HAVE NOT HAD AT&T SINCE 2000! when I ask them why they are billing me and for what, they say they do not know... but I owe them. BU***HIT! C'YA IN COURT, A**HOLES.

this number called my my phone today 6 times and left now messages when i called the number back it gave me another number to call i called and they were very nasty on the phone tring to collect money for a collect call i recieved 3 months ago from a pay phone .

I am thankful someone had an answer here. I have had the same it comes up as a Cell # and they've called 6 times today according to caller id.It shows as 803-308-7402 and comes in as a cell phone, SC and had 1 from the 843-308-7870 today.So far I can not get back in touch with someone but I cancelled my service and paid the account in full 2 weeks ago!
Just got a call from them where they verified my identification and phone number and then said they were calling about my phone bill but that they had just rec'd a pmt. Today is the 15th, it would have been past due on the 23rd.....
This is NOT, I repeat, NOT AT&T!!! Do NOT EVER give them any of your information!! It is an international scam, and the FBI is fully aware of it, and they cannot do anything about it, because it's international. The phone number does not exist. These people have been able to use a fake number, and make that number show up on our caller IDs.
I run into this in the past, I think with a different number. I think this is a phone-equivalent of a phishing scam. In any regard, you should not pay anybody collecting through this number even if they seem legitimate. Treat these phone calls like an email phishing scam. Don't trust them if you don't recognize them, and if you have an issue with AT&T payments, only make your payment through the official site, if you must pay by phone, get a legitimate number through the AT&T website.I wouldn't rain*****-fire on AT&T for this without knowing it is them, I would contact AT&T or write, like I just did, to [email protected] and include a link to this page. If they are at fault they will be able to stop the calls, and if they are not they deserve to know it is a problem and have a chance to respond to the issue.
A***n at 9:05PM tonight I received a call from this number, finally I googled it and found out who has been calling me... So what exactly these numbers are and why they call I do not know...

Yes- It's AT&T calling regarding overdue or past phone bills. I too find the calls harassing because they call REPEATLY back to back and NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE. When my answering ma****e picks up, they **** up and it is like they call back, to back, to back… 2 to 5 times a day and in a row. I called AT&T regarding it be cause I wanted to know who the calls were coming from because the caller ID never have a name (shows “unknown caller” or “unavailable”). I was forwarded to the AT&T collections department and the operator informed me that yes, they tried to call me regarding my phone bill (which was only 1 day late!!!) and that the calls are made from a computer and that they normally wont leave a message the computer picks the callers at random. I informed the operator I made an online payment the day after the bill was due and still continued to receive the calls – she said she did not know why that would still happen. IT’S ******!! I would think that a company- as large as AT&T- where individuals receive services from would AT LEAST have better phone contact service than this.
They keep calling and everytime they call I answer it and tell them to stop calling me and i have to cuss at them for them to actually listen! I asked them if i could talk to their supervisor and they pretended like they were transfering me, but never did! I don't owe at&t any money, I have paid all of the bills.

They call multiple times daily, s****ing at 8am on Sa****ay! We called back to find it was AT&T (didn't talk to anyone). We recently dropped their service -- is this why?
It's AT&T. If they are calling about your bills or service and are calling BEFORE 9 am, or AFTER 9 pm, they are likely violating your State's Public Utility and Consumer laws. In addition, they are also governed by the Federal Communications Commission. This behavior is new since they were purchased by a third rate company called SBC. Much of their actions are violative of both State and Federal Law - at least on my caller ID they do not show their name. Nor do they leave messages. The calls end up being harrassing under NJ Statutes when they are continual and they don't leave messages - I don't answer unidentified callers who don't leave messages and have repeatedly filed call trace reports a***nst them with my local carrier. I dropped AT&T for a better service provider - before SBC bought them, that was unthinkable. The cell phone 803-308-7402 seems VERY LIKELY a violation of both Federal and State laws at 2 levels. REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES. I DID AND DROPPED THEM.
