Doesnt tell you what they are calling for then just ****s up without ever telling you anything

Asked for my wife and said would call back at a later time. wouldn't say what was for! I'm sure they were beggers !!!

Just got a call on my cell phone (which is on the Do Not Call registry) from this number and the guy asked for my husband specifically. I said "I'm his wife; he isn't available at this number, but I can give you his cell number. Where are you calling from?" His reply: Some quick mumbled reply about a "civic" matter. When I said, "About a civic matter?", and then was about to ask what that meant when he spoke over me and said he'd just call him back at a different time. So then I s****ed to say, "but you don't have his number" but he just a***n said that he'd call back at a later time if this wasn't a good time to call. Then he ***g up as I just looked bewildered at my phone.
