Anyone have an idea who these people are? This lady Nelda said she was calling to debit my bank account with $32.19 for overpayment on my Spectrum account. I don’t know what Spectrum is. So I ***g up. They keep calling every day and say that I need to press 1 or my district attorney will press charges a***nst me.
Press 1 to receive court date set by your district attorney office/ failure to comply with this message will give the county judge the right to issue the arrest warrant for you. Please press 1.
Scammer. Tried to get me to send money via PayPal for defaulting on a debt from a so called good guys electronics store. She said I had obtained an in store credit card back in 2003 and racked up charges well over $3,800. This was at the good guys store in Portland, Oregon. She was not friendly as I tried to explain that I was 4 y/o at the time. It’s not me. Not sure how she got my name and #.
Wanted to talk about setting past due payment for financed money and other credit accounts.
She told me that shew was a lawyer. I would be going to court and be sued. She could not verify any information about me so I knew it was a bogus scammer.
Threatened to have my district attorney summon me to court for legal action. I called back since they mentioned that I owe their client money. When the lady answered she automatically suggested that I send a $500 payment via Western Union to a Walmart in Alham***, CA. ??She asked me for my name....so I ***g up.
This person keeps calling my 12 y/o son’s cell phone about a debt he owes in ******ia. We block the number and they call from a different number. We’ve contacted Verizon and the police department. Verizon said that our cell number is new and never been in service. We’ve been told that it’s most likely a scammer. But the scary part is that they have his full legal name. Scary stuff.
Got a call at supper time. The lady was rude to tell me that I had an account debt of $6,708.16 past due. This was for a furniture store in Los Angeles California and the purchase was made in 1996. I explained that I’ve never left Fargo ND and they must have the wrong person. She said local authorities would be dealing with me if I didn’t send them a western union payment. I ***g up.
Press 1 or they will see me in court. I didn’t call back.
Scammers posing as debt collectors
Was told by a female that I had 24 hours to pay a $465 debt or I’d be answering to my district attorney. She could not provide the origin or date of the debt. She was aggressive and wanted a money order or money wire transfer through an app called zoom (spelling?).
Didn't leave a name but said I had court proceedings and wanted me to call back and provide my full name and social
She was collecting an unpaid loan from a Circuit City store in Ohio. I tried to explain that I’m a 16 year old foreign exc****e student and that I just came here to US this past August, but the lady was rude. She keeps leaving threatening messages. She has my name and date of birth correct. I’m not old enough to have a loan. My sponsors have called local police to report this number.
She said I would have to appear in front of my local district attorney for not pressing 1. ?
She said she was debt collector Cortney Roberts... she wanted to know how I would be paying. I demanded more information. She ***g up on me
SCAMMER: They called my 13 y/o daughter and left a message in her name. They said that she’d be taken to court and jail if she didn’t call back. I called the number back and they’re just a bogus debt collector. These idiots are trying to scam the general public with scare tactics. Once I told them they were calling my daughter, a minor, she apologized profusely and ****ed up.
It’s a scam. Don’t answer!!
I received a threatening voicemail and sarcastic remark in a very arrogant tone of voice. It was a lady claiming that I had been summoned to court for an unpaid debt at a my local furniture store. The debt was from back in 1992. ***? I was 2 years old. I tried calling back to explain and they were very arrogant trying to explain that they may have the wrong person. I just ***g up on them.
I pressed one as instructed. I was directed to Samantha Logue and she said she was collecting a debt. She had all my info correct and the defaulted debt, but that debt had been paid 24 years ago with a collection agency. I gave her the details and agency that I paid off my debt to and she refused to listen. She threatened me with a court and sue me for all I have. I said FO!! And ***g up.
The caller left a VM that said; "Press number one on your dial pad. If not, you'll be receiving a summons to appear in front of your local District Attorney to answer to our court filing. Good luck!" I will follow up on this note once I’m out of jail. Hopefully, they don’t sue me for everything that I own and I can’t afford a phone and its service to give you folks an update. Send cigarettes! ;p
