regularly sell "ads" in the "policeman's ball etc.. what ever the scam is they promise FOP stickers and such making it sound like the offer is from a police department. the person will usually identify as sargent or lieutenant sounding very official. SCAM call you local PD if you have any doubt

Complete scam.. the FOP is a union. As long as I've been a member they simply take dues outta our paychecks bi weekly. The only real fundraisers we do are for members of our lodges that have a tradgic incident (sick fam member or god forbid, a member hurt on or off duty). But I cannot think of any instance where we have asked the public for monies directly.. I've had a person tell me he was a narcotics. Officer and was w the narco task force. (Lol) I acted intriged and inquired where abouts he says in town. He wouldn't get specific and then I dropped the fact that I'm a former pba member whose town. Switched to fop meaning I'm a cop. He immediately ***g up. I called and its basically a service. If this matter was looked into id be willing to bet the state fop has no knowledge of this..

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.njfop.com, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for New Jersey police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

This number called on 9/10/10 and CallerID said FOP NJ. Fraternal Order of Police NJ???????
