Leave a CommentI received a message on my work phone from a someone named Jerome Petterson with a very strong accent saying as soon as I received the call to call or have my attained attorney of record call immediately to (858)248-4817 and if I did not call back he was wishing me good luck as my situation unfolded. I called *67(858)248-4817 and recieved a voice mail with no message only a beep. I ***g up, not leaving a message. I know this is a scam and I am also reporting this call to the FTC, BBB and the State Attorney Generals Office. If anyone else receives a call from this person please report them also! I'm hoping by reporting these individuals they will be caught before someone actually falls for their scam! If you recieve a call like I did do the right thing and report them IMMEDIATELY!!!!
Don't Worry!!!!! it's a scam. They're getting peoples personal information from payday loans. They are not in California even though "858" area code is a California code. They are calling from overseas probably from India. Ive contacted the Dept. of Justice and the FBI. Don't be afraid! Ask them for a web address and they will not answer you. I found out about this after they called my wife and threatened legal action a***nst her. I called them back and immediately recognized it was a scam. I ask for "Ben" and gave a fictious name and telephone number. They told me I owed $1465.88 and to fax a letter saying that I wanted to resolve this matter... I laughed and called him a not good liar.. I told them I was on to them and that I had notified the FBI, the guy laughed back at me then ***g up. Ever since then I've been calling (blocking my number) and telling them they owe me money for wasting my time! I call them so much, I'm suprised they have not shut down. If you want a good laugh dial *67 (858) 345-***2 and tell them you know what they're a fraud. (be careful not to give them any real information about yourself. My wife and I say were from VA and give them a 804 telephone number. We laugh so hard... I have not had this much fun since I was a kid doing prank calls (remember those days before caller ID?) LoL.. Spread the word.... I'm sure they have someone scared out of their minds, this is sad. Complain to your local FBI and demand so****ing be done about this if you have been affected by this scam!
8/12/2009 I got a message at work from the Financial Accountability Account that I need to call them immediately, they had a legal matter to discuss with me. This person told my co-worker that if I didn't return his call, I would be in a lot of trouble. The co-worker being in collections and knowing the laws told the company to stop calling me at work. They proceeded to call me five more times in a 6 hour timeframe at work. At first I thought it could be a debt that I truly owned and I wanted to do the right thing and try to take care of it. Once home, I called the number and got a man named Dean Jones (heavy Indian accent). He informs me that I was being sued for not paying a payday loan I took out in December of 2008. That if I didn't resolve this matter now that I would be arrested. I told him I did not take out any loan in December of 2008. I asked who he worked for and he told me Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans****ociation and that he was trying to collect the debt for One Quick Cash.I told him I never heard of that company and ask for their number, he said he could give it to me but if I called the company they had been informed not to release any information to me because of the lawsuit. At that point I s****ed to get su****ion. I asked if I owed this company money why had ***ody every contacted me to collect on the debit. He said they had record of sending me 16-18 e-mails and I never responded. Why no phone calls, Dean Jones said it was a***nst the law for the company to call. At this point I know the whole thing was a scam, but played along so I could see how much information I could get from him. He told me that I owed his company $745.53. I laughed and he ***g up on me. I called him back and said that I was sorry that I laughed and that I really wanted to get to the bottom of this. I asked what I needed to do to make the calls stop. I was informed that I would have to write a letter of apology to the company and pay the full amount due be credit card and no further legal action would be taken. I said I would have to check into it and call him back, he once a***n threaten me and ***g up.I called my bank and they have no record of me receiving a payday loan from a company named One Quick Cash or any other payday company for that matter. They also showed no record of me having default on paying so****ing back. I called and reported it to the FTC and was told this a scam. Once I filed a claim with FTC, I called back Dean Jones saying that I had contacted the FTC and filed a claim and that I knew what they were doing was a scam. I hoped that would have stopped the calls, but the next day they called my work a***n threatening me all over ago. This time I’m filing with the BBB and the State Attorney Generals office. Please don't fall for this scam. If you don't know the law read the Fair Collection Debt Act. Collection companys can threaten you or harass you unfairly.
