I agree with Mike ... DATA MINERS, definitely. My Caller ID says SSI on 7-10-2014 at 4:28pm. Thanks to everyone who posts here! :)

Caller ID read: 859-474-8606. It was a local number for my area so I answered. (Actually, it's a disguised number to make you think it's local.) As the caller's headset produced such poor quality voice transmission, I can't be certain if it was male or female. They kept asking for my adult son (who doesn't live with us) by name. But, when asked "Who is calling?" they would only say: "??I -- We are not selling anything." After three attempts to completely understand the caller, they hung up on me. Upon calling them back, I still couldn't understand the company name as stated in the recorded message. But, they did clearly provide a website you can visit to learn about what they do. http://www.surveysampling.com/en/general/received-a-call Basically, they (SSI) are "DATA MINERS." Today's term for "TELEMARKETERS" abusing 'Do NOT Call' laws by labeling what they do "A Survey." This DATA MINING TELEMARKETER has two apparently legitimate telephone numbers in the US. So, if you would like to call them every day, like they are calling some of us, here's their TOLL FREE NUMBER: 866-360-9678. I called the number back. A recording says that they are an independent survey research organization. They have called 5/8/14 at 5:34 pm, 5/8/14 at 7:23 pm, 5/9/14 at 7:31 pm, 5/12/14 at 7:26 pm. I don't usually answer calls from numbers I don't know and they don't leave a message.

Called my house repeatedly for the last two days. No one speaks when you answer.

Caller ID showed: SSI . They hung up before i could say Hello. I don't know who called. They called 4-13-2014 at 8:10 pm (Sunday Evening). Thanks to everyone who posts any information about this number!! :)
