I just received the same phone call from an 864-642-1572... it's exactly what i read on this thread. They tell you to hold, give you the last 4 of your SS# then puts you on hold, then a major ***4OLE speaks to you to harass you... he kept going and going wouldn't get to the point so I said you can talk to my lawyer, then he got really nasty, so I just ***g up before he could go on. Where do they find these people??? SERIOUSLY???!!!

I got a call to my cell from this number.  They identified themselves as CRA and would not tell me the reason for their call. They threatened to send my info to the IRS after naming a couple of banks that I have done business with and after I asked them to send me written do***entation.  I would like to know who these people are so that I can write to them to tell them not to contact me a***n.

Who is this that keeps calling me?  What do they want?  I don't know them or owe them!!!

Someone from this number just called a few moment ago. After saying*****o, she asked who I was and referenced the last for of my social. I asked who this was and she stated, hold on Mr. Coleman needs to speak to you about some important paper work. I ***g up. Upon calling back another woman, Ms. Yelder answered and I noted that someone called from this number and she asked who I was, but I redirected to find out who she was. She stated her company was CRA but never elaborated after direct questioning but provided anothe number

they called me and it was a live person asking if I was so and so and if this is the last 4 of my socialI just told them nope and usually stops the calls if not and they repeatedly call I tell them if they call a***n for someone who I don't know I will call the police and have them charged with phone harrassment and that usually works good luck all

called me saying their filing a 1099c form on a credit card that was paid off 15yrs.ago. i laughed at them and they got mad and ***g up on me.

The same thing happened to me today. Someone stating that they were from a company called, "CRA", and they were going to send my name into the IRS for,"racking up a credit card and using the money as income but never reporting the income to the IRS"..?????? WHAT???? I never even had a card they were talking about...but they knew my SS# and DOB...Scary...I'm reporting them!

I was left on hold for several minutes after verifying my name. They then stated they were just notifying me that they were about to send a 1099 debt elimination form to the IRS for a credit card that I have never owned. When I told then I never had that card, they stated that that wasn't the purpose of the call, it was just to notify me of what they were about to do and I had one hour to settle the amount or call them back.. they never left a number.. I just got this one from the caller ID. I'm reporting them to the FTC.

Talked to one of these clowns this morning after they told me what my SS# was. So I was interested what they wanted. Then this guy said I pay all my bill but one from 2000. I said send it to me in the mail, and he gets nasty. He states he doesn't have to do that for me to just pay. I replied that he could either send it or kick rocks and he chose to **** up on me after calling me names and trying to berate and****issinate my character. How professional :)

HERE'S AN IDEA FOR US ALL!!CRA calls me from various numbers at least 5 times a day on my personal cell phone. They're obviously breaking the law and using **** tactics to strongarm people into making mistakes and either admitting to debt that they don't have to pay, or obtaining information to further their harassment. Calling the BBB and other government agencies isn't helping, and doing anything else seems to fuel their fire. All the while, their auto-dial computers are harassing us every day. So how do you stop them?By wasting their money!I advise everyone who is being harassed by these goons to do what I'm currently doing. Every time I get called from a blocked number or one of their numbers, I answer the phone so the computer will connect me with an operator, (sometimes you have to actually say "hello"), then when I hear a voice I put the phone on mute at give them a dead line. Usually, they'll keep saying "hello" over and over for about a minute before ****ing up. This costs their company money in phone time and operator time, which is the reason why they have the auto-dial computer in the first place. Now, I have a ton of rollover minuets for which I could do this with, and the cost to them is very small, but over time, if I can get 5 minuets a day of their time, it could really add up. The debt they're calling about is literally $250, so my goal is to waist that amount of money. Also, if you have the minuets and the time, you could expedite the process by actually talking to them. DO NOT ADMIT TO OWNING THE DEBT, or don't even talk about the debt at all. (Check with your state laws about what to say and not to say. Sometimes they could bring the debt back on your record just because you said it was yours at one time). KEEP THE OPERATOR ON THE PHONE, talk about the weather, flirt with them, anything to keep them on the phone and NOT talking about the debt. The more time they're on the phone, the more money CRA looses on a debt they'll never collect.I believe that if more and more people do this, over time, CRA will go bankrupt. Let's may CRA pay for every auto-dial we get!!

got a call on 5/25/10 at 8:30am.  An automated voice said "continue holding, your call is important to us"

Keeps calling my cell phone. Calls several times a week and does not leave a message.

This number keeps calling and I never answer. I am on the do not call list. And this is getting annoying. I agree with the comments stating its CRA. This is just another number they are calling from. DO NOT ANSWER. BLOCK THESE CALLS. Other numbers, so far are: 864 649 9008

Company name "CRA" doesn't want to tell you what their company is "they do a lot of things" and when asked they simply just **** up. Not a legitimate business at all, recommend you BLOCK.
