Leave a CommentI havehad 3 calls from this number in less than 3 hours. One was a person asking to speak to me but had my name wrong and kept saying*****o. I did not answer I was screening the call. The next call from same number just s****ed playing loud music. The 3rd one I clicked it on and off. I think this is some kind of scam, don't get caught.
I side with Kay on this one...... I have an overdrafted account with Wachovia and that is why they are calling. Now if you do not have a Wachovia account, that's another story....
These are iden***y thieves posing as Wachovia. I called Wachovia to report them. Wachovia is aware of them.
They call from this number and ask for my boss by first name. He's the CEO! When I ask who is calling they say someone at Wachovia...you can hear the call center in the back ground. My boss has told them not to call here. I place them on eternal hold until they **** up.
Yet another person being hounded, harassed. I live in a state that doesn't even HAVE Wachovia/Wells Fargo banks so far as I know. I get calls daily, they clog up my voice mail box which then costs ME $$ to retrieve and delete.
Its Legit. I have several accounts with Wachovia. It should be called airhead department. The girl was not nice and when I told her that I had transferred money from another Wachovia account. She asked me if there was a credit card or other bank account that I could transfer money from. When I told her that this was a bank error which it really is but they do not want to admit they gave me "as a courtesy some of my money back" but not all. Then I asked her why are you calling every 10 mins. She replied that they do no do that. I told her my caller id is showing that you do. The she replied that if you would have answered in the first place we would have never called you that much. Then I asked her a question that if the bank owed me money and was 2 days from getting my money from me how would you feel if i called you every 10 minutes. Her reply, well uh do you have a credit card to put this on. What a bunch of *****s
I also work for Wachovia. If you're receiving the call and don't have a Wachovia account, it's also possilble that the account holder had that phone number previously or it was entered in error. You'd be surprised how many people don't know their phone number so it's not uncommon that they accidentally gave the wrong number when the account was set up or updated. If you're still uneasy about entered your information when you call, you can try to press 0 until transferred to a representative. Eventhough this is a legitimate Wachovia phone number, please continue to be safe. If you are ever in doubt, call 1-800-WACHOVIA or your local ***nch for confirmation.
This is a legitimate Wachovia number. If you are getting calls for this number and do not have an account it is likely because a friend/ relative used your number as a contact number OR the number was entered erroneously. The system will ask for your full social security # because if the account number is not recognized that is how the automated system will locate your account and route the call appropriately. I work for Wachovia.
This number keeps calling me. I do not have a Wachovia account. It seems a little odd that it requires a SS# or account number to be entered. It WILL NOT send you to an operator or human no matter what you enter. If this is a Wachovia line, who ever came up with the call script does not know what they are doing and sure not security minded. A***n *IF* it is legit is is very poorly designed.
I believe this is real. I also have a Wachovia account which I closed but it is slightly overdrawn.
I Received a call and it was this number. I called back the regular 1-800 Wachovia number and this is their number. It is for over drawn that my daughter is. Any one who is telling people this is not a Wachovia number has no idea what they are talking about. CALL WACHOVIA and ask them, this number is very real
I keep receiving calls from this number which I haven't yet answered -- however, when I call the number back it does ask for Wachovia. I have never had any Wachovia accounts yet it wants my social security #? This despite all their current troubles at the bank? Not a chance.
It has got to be a scam, no wachovia agent has ever asked me for my full SS#
Stop calling my phone this isn't Karen's number anymore.
I am on DNC lists. This number continues to call even though they have been advised they have the wrong number. They will sometimes **** up and call back within a minute.Caller ID: 866-211-6980
This is a Wachovia number 8662116980 and also 8009457745 these numbers are for a "Overdraft Resloutino team" and the "recovery department" for accounts that go into overdraft from what I was told that the calls s**** at 7-8 days delquient then go into recovery at any time. The calls are legit. They ask for your acct# and ss# for the automated systm Iwas told to keep hiting 0 or somthing and you will get a live person. They were all very nice and really helped out.
My husband has a Wachovia account but my son is not on it anywhere. His account isn't over drawn either. But this number called my son's cell and didn't leave a message.
My bank said its legit. My counts also overdrawn (its wachovias fault for the 3rd time!!!!) but yea they are just trying to tell you that so****ings wrong with your account. i still didn't use it thought cause I'm not going to take the chance so i'd still say be safe and just call a normal wachovia number and find out why they called if they even really did
This is not legit people use your heads. My young child is getting calls on his cell.1(child is a minor)2(none of us are acct.holders with Wachovia.3(NO BANK ASKS FOR YOUR ENTIRE S.S.#)last four digits yes but never all nine. The calls are constant and the message always the same and never complete. If anyone has doubt about this contact your local news station they have investigators for this kind of thing.
Receiving **** up calls from this number
didn't answer call & no VM available
The VM was truncated and asked to "contact 211-6980".It's Wachovia and legitimate, my account with them is overdrawn and they're simply looking to recoup.
SCAM. It asks for your account number and your nine-digit social #. A real Wachovia number would never ask for your nine-digit social. Called on another phone (not my cell, where I receieved the call) and input phony account and social #'s. Was then treated to several minutes of silence--no customer service rep.
it is a wachovia number - i just called them today
