ANYONE SAYING THIS NUMBER IS FAKE IS A ***** OR TROLL. I just phoned the number on the back of my client card and spoke with a representative. They confirmed the number for me and confirmed that my account had been frozen because someone attempted to withdraw $340 from my account. Both numbers gave me the exact same story and the RBC rep told me I had a warning message on my account. The Fraud Detection Group also told me I needed to speak with a ***nch representative IN PERSON, get a new card, and c****e my password before they would unfreeze my accounts (I can't even log on online). Then the representative I phoned via the number on the back of my ****** card confirmed the exact same thing. A scammer would NEVER do this - they would attempt to get way more information (i.e.: card number, password, visa number, etc) and can't freeze accounts without a million red flags going up at RBC. However, I do agree that if you are uncomfortable go speak to someone in person.
This actualy is a telephone number of RBC Fraud Department. I had some activity on my card that they were checking on. Everything was fine. They did not ask me any personal card information just asked what services I was using at RBC.EVERYTHING IS OK WITH THIS NUMBER AND CALL
This is fake. I called the number as they had left msgs on both my home and mobile numbers. A man introduced himself and asked for my client card number. When I declined to offer up the info, he simply instructed me to call Royal Bank myself.I did immediately. A woman checked my file. There was no su****ious activity on any of my cards. When I explained the 1-866-212-2004 call, she was emphatic that this was not an RBC number. She also stated that RBC would not need to ask for my client card number. They would know which of my cards had been compromised.
The caller pretends to be from 'Royal Bank National Fraud Detection'. There's NO such department at RBC. Do NOT give these ppl any kind of info. Report this to RBC as fraud at 1-800-769-2511, see http://www.rbc.com/privacysecurity/ca/email-and-website-fraud-4.html
