Leave a CommentIf you get bored you should call and play their silly game! They don't know your name, address, or nothing and obivoulsy don't have caller ID. Just ask a bunch of questions and I'm sure they will send you to "another department" and **** up.
I got the same postcard in the mail too. Very ***ue information on it. Thanks for helping me decide NOT to call the number on it. I have been getting unwanted and unsubscribed ****m issues for about four months now. I wondered where that was coming from. I never signed up for them.
Couldn't resist playing the game a***n! It's actually quite entertaining at least the first two times. You can tell if you ask a question that isn't on their script. I asked who I was speaking with, "Greg". Greg wanted the control number which should s**** with an "A". Well Greg who do you work for? I work for the publishers of your magazines. Which publishers? The ones that send out your magazines. Ok Greg which magazine are you referring to cause I get 12 different ones? Well (he names off random magazines, ****m being one) and tells me I can renew them all for $2.99 a week. I said soo Greg I can get all 12 for only $2.99 a week which is roughly $12 a month? He said well I will get that department to contact you directly in the next 2 business days. I said which department Greg? He said thanks have a great day and ***g up on me!
I got the same post card today. As with most of you I googled it first and read all the comments. But I simply couldn't resist the urge to play their silly game! I called and of course Megan answered and went through the load of ****, and when she said asked for my name for the age range I told her that would be a huge***** no! I got a kick out of it at least. Thinking about calling back and asking for Megan!
I began getting ****m several months ago and was never sure why. I am a female and do not read those types of magazines. I****umed the card I received in the mail today was junk but decided to google it first. Thanks for all the good information.
I got the postcard yes****ay. Thanks for the info everybody!
I called this number a few times and finally got one to talk to me without a "control number". After playing their game for a while I found out they are trying to renew your magazines at a rate of $2.99/WEEK! WOW! If this is for ****m I usually only pay about $10 for the year!Very entertaining staff however. They really need trained on whether Pat is a male or female because I easily called them out on "she is not in" and "he has left for the day". It also seems that all of their female staff uses the alias "Megan". I kept calling back and asking for Megan :)
Wow Glad I did this internet search. I've actually received several magazines in addition to ****m Mag and now I know I definetly wont call. Thanks for the heads up guys.
Same card here. S****ed getting ****m Mag for some reason and now the card! Thanks for the info.
THANK YOU GUYS! Thank goodness i didnt waste my time and everything Thanks a***n everyone!
Ok, got the same...i receive ****m magazine after a "free" subscription on internet, and just received one of those card.
dudes thanks a ton i got the ****m magazine and tryed to contact someone to tell them it was a mistake and then got the little postcard and i didn't call them thank you all for the heads up
Just got this postcard in the mail today. Exact same as the OP. I do have a ****m subscription, but it doesn't expire for another 18 months. No way I'm calling these folks!
YOU ARE ACES! I fit the same situation you described!! Many thanks for the heads up!!
I received the same post card and an unsubscribed ****m mag. Thanks for the heads up!
It's a magazine scam / bill collector company. They send you ****m magazine unsubscribed to then contact you trying to get you to pay for it. Just ignore them.
ack! that should read THEIR capitalization
Thank you, NJmom, for this update. I've not called the number, but it looks like I've gotten the same card. "We are trying to reach you with Good News!" it says (they're capitalization). The number is the same: 1-866-299-0858. The return address is the same: "P.R.S. PO Box 261175, Lakewood, CA, 80226" (though the postage says that it was mailed from "80003" and a Google.com search says that's Arvada, Colorado). The card gives the same times to call: 1pm - 9pm EST/Monday to Friday and also says "Thanks, Pat Kennedy". I've not dialed the number, because I did a Google.com search on the number first and found this page.
I got a postcard in the mail to call this number 1-866-299-0858 because someone is trying to reach me with good news. The return address said, "P.R.S. PO Box 261175, Lakewood, CO 80226" The card said to call between 1pm and 9pm EST M-F. There was a control number to reference as well. So, I called and this young guy sounded confused as to why I was calling, wouldn't tell me what company it was, etc. I gave him the control number and he said it has to do with my magazine subscription and that I shouldn't renew it. I asked him which magazine and he was ***ue in saying, "You know. Your magazine subscription." I got annoyed and told him I had several subscriptions and it doesn't make sense why he can't tell me which one.. So, he told me to hold, but he ***g up on me. I've had a similar experience with scammers calling me to let me know I can lower my interest rate on my credit card. They won't tell you which card. They want you to tell them your information.
Got a call, no message was left.
