I got a text message on my cell phone that read, "Dear Resource One C.U. customer, we regret to inform you that we had to lock your bank account access. Call 866 425-8971 to restore your bank account." I check my bank account & major credit card & everything was fine. I called back the number and it said "This number has been temporarily suspended. Thank you Good-bye." and I was disconnected. Only 30 minutes had lapsed.
Filed an online complaint with the FCC. Thank you for the suggestion, DL. I had not thought to do so until I read your post.
Received a text message stating: From 8877: Dear Resource One C.U. customer, we regret to inform you that we had to lock your bank account access. Call (866) 425-8971 to restore your bank account. We have no banking relationship with this group. SCAM!!! Do NOT repond.
They are just trying to get your name and credit card information. Called the FCC and filed a complaint, everyone else should as well.
I called the number and put in bogus random information when they asked for credit card number, expiration date, and PIN #. After the fake info was entered they said "thank you, your account has been restored" Good-bye. So obviously they are trying to steal your credit card information to steal your iden***y or your money. Do not respond to this call with any real or traceble info. Do not call from your phone. Call the FBI instead.
State they had to lock my bank account access. I don't have an account at Resource One C.U. and no one can lock and account in TX except for income tax and child support and the bank themselves.
Same message about needing to call to unlock my bank account.
