FRAUD. REPORT THESE S***BAGS

Got this text today and looked up my account online and had some unauthorized charges. I did not call the number in the text, but called the number on the back of my card and talked with BofA and they put a stop on the card. They also said the two were probably unrelated and just coincidental. Seemed strange so I called a couple of more times from different phones to verify I wasn't part of some grand scam involving my phone, bank account, and a bunch of scam artists. I'm sleeping with my tin foil hat on tonight and am going to hit the local ***nch in the A.M.By the way, I looked up the short code to the text and it belongs to Mobile Collect, which is some sort of texting software agencies can use to collect monies owed.

Got this text today...It's a total scam...I alerted my bank too, they are on it and will catch the ******s.

yep.  i just got a text from this company. i called back (even though i don't have a B of A account) just because i was curious, and it just rang and rang.  no worries, people, it's not the read deal.

got text message saying my card had been blocked to call 18887506845 i called the number the recording asks for my card number then asks for my exp date and my pin i do not have a boa card so i used 0 and pound to see if i could get to speak to live person it asks me to enter my info a***n i believe it is a scam

after getting a similar message i spoke to a person who asked for my ss#.  i told them to pound sand!

Bank of America says that it is one of their numbers.

I got the same thing.  Text message as described below.  When I called Customer Service @ B of A she said there was nothing unusual in the computer.  She said this happens a lot because so many people across the country have B of A, mass text messages get sent out and some people do call those numbers back and give info.  Also, she said she gets a lot of people calling B of A asking why they got the text when they don't even have B of A.  Scary!

Just got it:  Called the number on the back of my card and the BofA rep. said that there was no su****ious activity. They also confirmed that this is not a number that they have in their system.

Scam. Got the same call. Called b of a and they said it wasn't them or their affiliates.

I got a call today from 315-724-4022 followed by a text message on my cell phone that BOA has temporarily limited the use of your check card due to unusual activity.Please call 1-866-459-9195.To opt out reply STOP.I called the number and the person asked me for first three digits of my social. I refused to give that info. I did not see any unusual activity on my account. I tried calling BOA but they say to call after holidays.Looks lie a scam.

I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE WAS APPROACHED THE DAY OF OR THE DAY BEFORE THEY GOT THIS MESSAGE OR CALL ASKING THEM TO HELP THEM CALL THEIR LOST PHONE TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND IT WHEN IT WAS RINGING.. AND THE CELL PHONE NUMBER THE PERSON ASKED YOU TO CALL WAS A 877 NUMBER... I THOUGHT IT WAS ODD.. WAS OUT AND SOME GUY COME UP AND SAID HE LOST HIS PHONE.. AND WANTED ME TO CALL IT.. SEE IF HE COULD HEAR THE RING..

This **** is worse than robbing from my home.

BE CAREFUL! Just got this same message.  I actually called the number.  When it picks up, the voice recording says so****ing like Bank of America text message retrieval system.  I was connected to someone who s****ed asking me a series of questions.  When I responded that he should already have the information he's asking for in the computer, he told me he couldn't find me in the system.  At that point, I became highly su****ious and refused to give him any more info.  I called the B of A number on the back of my card and was told that B of A does occasionaly send out text messages, but never to alert someone of fraud.  That kind of alert is always done with a phone call.

Same thing happened to me several times in the last 2 months followed by a phone call from 315-7244022 saying that my account was blocked. It's a scam!

I also got a text message saying it was bank of america. This is the text message:FREE TEXT MSG alert - Bank of America has temporarily limited the use of your Check Card due to unusual activity. Please call 1-866-459-9195. To Opt Out reply STOP. I checked my account, and everything was fine. Thank you paul and jaclyn for confirming my fears that this was a scam!

Got a text message stating it was bank of america and that they have limited the use of my check card due to unusual activity and to call this number. i've never called.

Called saying it was Bank of America but its just a company wanting your check card information to charge some bogus charges to your account.
