Called number back, picked up my info from caller ID.  It's legit.  My UHC

Got two calls from UHC, both asking me to return a call to 866-468-5884 with an 8-digit PIN. I called back and it was legitimately UHC. I didn't need my PIN as their system identified my by my incoming phone line. The survey was one question, A) do I have other medical insurance, not including vision or dental. Yes or no. My answer was 'no' so the survey was completed. The end.

UHC lefted a message regarding some questions about my claims. The number they left was 1866 468 5884 and a 8 digit code which I didn't call seems to fishy.Instead I called the number on the back of my insurance card to see if they had any outstanding claims and there were none. The lady also looked up the number to see if it was one of their number and it wasn't. She made a note of it for the future. I never called the 1866 468 5884-- its too risky and shady.

Sounds like a scam on my voice mail, and if the poster above is right about it being a survey, they need to find a less seedy way of doing it. Better safe than sorry and completely ignored.called from 781-328-9585 and also asked me to call back at 866 468 5884

The call I actually got was from "Unknown 781-328-9587" and the message directed me to call 1-866-468-5884 and gave me an eight-digit number as identification.  It was a survey from my insurance company checking to see if I had other insurance so they could process claims more efficiently.  Just a computer-generated voice asking a legitimate question, no personal information was requested.

Yes this is United Health Care.It is an automated system to find out of you have any other insurance coverage before they process your current claims, that way they can push off or delay claims to see if your other (if you have any other coverage) will pay the claim first.

Re:  866-468-5884Linda called from United Healthcare, Coordination of Benefits, gave 8 digit pin #, call 866... to update insurance records.  My caller ID did identify the caller as Oxford.  Called the 866 #.  The automatic service asked whether we had any other insurance other than Oxford/United Healthcare, yes or no.  That was it, one question.  I believe that this is a legit call.

I received call that sounds like the same thing "Mary - 8 Oct 2009" discribed. Called a valid United/Pacificare number. Their represen***ive did not seem to be concerned but did not think it was one of thier numbers. Caller ID showed 718-328-9586 and ***led "Pacificare"

received message from said to be United Healthcare today 1/26/10.Called back, no clear company name and no live person available, just a  question for an 8 digit security code for my privacy.seems like a scam&^%$%^^ the (**&&^&&* !!

Same here got a call from 866 468 5884 from uhc asking to call back before oct 20, regarding about a claim.... fishy... checked my uhc acct and all is cleared.

got call from 866-468-5884, automated message from Linda stating that she is calling from benefit coordination department of united health care, asked to call them back.looks like complete scam.i wonder where they get information about person's health insurance, maybe from insurance workers?

just got this from united healthcare.  the number on my ID is a boston area 781 area code.
