I got a call from this number, I didn’t answer it, because I didn’t recognize the number. Says call immediately, but I’m scare to call thinking someone might scam me. I have a family member in jail in California, so I don’t know what to do

they called left message asking for a jessica townsend . said they were from a such and such law firm asking for her to call about the "tal*** powder case". From past experience this call felt like a "pay for ***" service tying to reach one of the girls thats on a list in this area. It most likely was a call center service handling calls for a ****ette. You see i just go this number and yeah the previous owner was a very busy gurl...just saying

It's from telemate. The company that deals with most prisons for phone calls and video visits. If the prisoner doesn't have enough money to pay for the call they will ask for your information.

If you call it back it's a girl who sounds very interesting professional who says the number you are calling is local to the correctional facility from which it came from. Well that correctional facility I get calls from is Shasta County jail in Redding California. But I see on here that the same number is used for Washington Oregon Idaho Indiana ect.... How's that possible?

The number 866 516-0115 has called me 4 times in a row Sa****ay at 8pm, leaving 3 messages, then a***n 8 times in a row on Mon at 10pm leaving an entire 8 messages. Tonight, Tue, they have called me 13 times so far (in the last 15 min) and the line is still ringing! The message is always automated and repeats: "This call is subject to recording and monitoring. Press 1 to accept this call. To deny this call press 2. Press 4 for charges remaining to this call." It never identifies what sort of call I would be "accepting", any purpose of the call, or even who the caller is supposed to be. Other posts have said that this call is someone calling from jail. But the call itself never states this, nor does it give any name of the person supposedly is in jail. If it is legit, both ought to be stated clearly before asking someone to accept unspecified charges for a call they know nothing about. What's more, I personally know absolutely no one who would be calling me from jail.

I got a call from an inmate I didn't even know, TWICE. And I called back and they blocked him from calling me back.

This isn't a scam or anything-it is Telmate; it is used in many jails and prisons around the United States. You have the option to accept or deny the call after you are told who the caller is.

This is a scam from a jail, I got 5 calls from the same number & I called it back hit 0 to speak to the operator & ask her who was calling me & she did, I never heard of that person & ask her to block it.

Inmates use this to scam people. Don't accept the call. If you do they can third party off your line and run up bills on your phone.

I got a call from this number its a cell mate service. If you call the number back and press 0 for customer service they will tell you what inmate called you and where they are.
